February 11, 201511 yr I will definitely give this a try. What about grease splatter in the oven? My mom has cooked bacon in the oven on a cookie sheet for years. ...when she does it, she puts a second cookie sheet upside down on top like a lid. That way there isn't bacon splatter smoking up the whole kitchen.
February 11, 201511 yr Wife won't cook it any other way. Same here, much easier all the way around and comes out perfect every time.

February 12, 201511 yr I've tried bacon in the oven before.. It comes out pretty good, but I still prefer an iron skillet. If you wanna cook your bacon in the oven, you may as well throw it on a broiling pan to let the fat and grease drip off. That's healthy bacon, if their is such a thing.
February 12, 201511 yr Always get the thick cut. Great bacon. Yep, that's what I get. Get several pounds of it when I go to stock up. Best I have yet to have, others here at work say the same.
February 12, 201511 yr Told my wife about bacon being ok now, still got oatmeal for breakfast. I can't catch a break.
February 12, 201511 yr Author Ordered a salad yesterday with extra "Real" bacon and my wife just looked at me...I explained the latest government findings with her and shared some of my extra bacon with her.

Wait...you "shared" your bacon? Don't you know that's against the man code? Come on JD, when it comes to bacon, it's every man (or woman) for themselves!
February 12, 201511 yr Wait...you "shared" your bacon? Don't you know that's against the man code? Come on JD, when it comes to bacon, it's every man (or woman) for themselves! And there is never "extra" bacon, only "more" bacon.
February 13, 201511 yr And there is never "extra" bacon, only "more" bacon. I think I cried a little.
February 13, 201511 yr Tried the bacon in the oven technique. It worked pretty well. A little greasy. I didn't have the rack or broiler pan to use. I will try that next time. Still, the taste was good and much easier than cooking in a skillet so I give it a :thumb:
