I will definitely give this a try.

What about grease splatter in the oven?

My mom has cooked bacon in the oven on a cookie sheet for years. ...when she does it, she puts a second cookie sheet upside down on top like a lid. That way there isn't bacon splatter smoking up the whole kitchen.

Wife won't cook it any other way.

Always get the thick cut. Great bacon.

I've tried bacon in the oven before.. It comes out pretty good, but I still prefer an iron skillet. If you wanna cook your bacon in the oven, you may as well throw it on a broiling pan to let the fat and grease drip off. That's healthy bacon, if their is such a thing.

Yep, that's what I get. Get several pounds of it when I go to stock up. Best I have yet to have, others here at work say the same.

Told my wife about bacon being ok now, still got oatmeal for breakfast. I can't catch a break.

Ordered a salad yesterday with extra "Real" bacon and my wife just looked at me...I explained the latest government findings with her and shared some of my extra bacon with her.

Wait...you "shared" your bacon? Don't you know that's against the man code? Come on JD, when it comes to bacon, it's every man (or woman) for themselves!

And there is never "extra" bacon, only "more" bacon.

I think I cried a little.

Tried the bacon in the oven technique. It worked pretty well. A little greasy. I didn't have the rack or broiler pan to use. I will try that next time. Still, the taste was good and much easier than cooking in a skillet so I give it a :thumb:

GOTTA give it a try with the cookie cooling rack. It makes a BIG difference.
