You guys are relentless... This is a family that you're bashing. Not to mention, a 12 year old girl... But hey, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Not 12.. 14 at the youngest. got held back in the 6th grade. Been in 4 different schools since the 6th grade. :idunno: In all actually she would be a freshman this season if she wasnt held back. Now back to the point. No one is bashing just in all fairness this situation smell funny. What is this young lady supposed to learn out of all this? Its ok to bend or break the rules to win at all cost? Why 4 different school in 2 yrs? Parents change jobs that much??????

If this was a boys thread and it was Billy Hicks in question then how many posters would want the Khsaa to step in. Wrong is wrong i dont care if it a male high school senior or a 8th grade (supposed to 9th) grade freshman girl.

If its found that everything is all good then i applogize in advance :thumb:

So I am assuming that you think everything is OK, on the up and up and she should be allowed to play, Correct?

Most of you are assuming that it isn't on the up-and-up...everyone is jumping to conclusions on here and how many of us all have the facts?

Why would there be an investigation?

He made a bad call that dictated the outcome of the game. Hold the referee to a standard. They get paid nearly 100 bucks a game for blowing a whistle and running up and down the court (half the time they can't do that!). I say we start putting referees through a referee style boot camp for physical and mental necessities. Anyone agree?

No way they are getting $100.

Secondly, you do not do an investigation on a subjective call.

Ah, man, was hoping someone could interpret all that for us "non-lawyers"...but I did see in there a lot of "after enrollment in Grade 9" so seems it wouldn't apply...unless i overlooked something...

Section 4 Letter C

c) A student enrolled in grades 4-12 who has participated in a fi rst

team game shall not be eligible to represent a second member

school during that school year unless that student would qualify

for a waiver of the period of ineligibility in accordance with

provisions of Section 2 above.

:idunno:

Section 3 letter C

c) If the change in schools is motivated in whole or part by a desire

to participate in athletics at the new school

While many are quick to call foul (without supporting evidence), I don't think the previously mentioned post that everything was approved ahead of time is out of the question. This is just for all the BGP'ers to discuss and hash out.

Honestly, who here that hasn't been a parent is not going to do what we think is best for the child. It may not fit a person mold or values, but that doesn't mean it is wrong. If there was an issue with eligibility, it will come out. I think it is safe to say that the phone lines are still glowing red with the amount of traffic going to the KHSAA on this subject.

The parents job status or location is irrelevant. For those that have concrete facts, keep bringing them for discussion.

This was not for athletic reasons. Job and personal reasons and we will keep it that way. Bath Co will not be challenging this as Coach Graham and Coach Thomas are best of friends.

I hope we can wish this young lady the best and get back to the actual game.

She is the center point of the game Goldie 15 pts and the freethrows to win it. Without her I honestly believe it changes the entire game. Who knows if it would even be a tie ballgame at that point? This is not the girls fault and I have never blamed or attacked her. All I'm trying to say that if it's wrong it's wrong and hopefully it will all come out.

Ok... 75 dollars since we are counting... I noticed you weren't objective to my referee style boot camp.

The move was not made for athletic reasons.. Not only that, the kid was not held back for athletic reasons either. It's not your business to comment on. The parents took jobs that they felt were best for their family.

Several have said there was no wrong doing but yet it is still being questioned????? Read my post in #114 and the post quoted below. We have explained it, so why still questioning it???

Thanks for telling me what my business is and is not. Appreciate it. :thumb:

Whatever the reason if you don't think 4 schools in two years doesn't look concerning then I got some ocean front property here in Brooksville for sale if you are interested.

Truth of the matter is I don't really give two :poop: why she was held back or why she has played for two different varsity teams this season. Like I said if all is by the rules then great if not then there in lies the problem. And I don't care if she plays at GRC her entire carreer as long as it's done the right way. IMO she should have to sit until next yr or go finish out the season at Bath Co and then transferred.

If I'm the parents of the other kids on the team I'd be outraged at this point.

Untill proven otherwise it looks like a bad situation. There's no justification to it that I've read. I guess the timing of it all is it what a lot of ppl are taking issue with. Pretty convient if you ask me. But like I said if it all comes out good by the KHSAA then that's the final word. Untill then I will always question it.
