Agreed. Of course everyone has to be accountable, even someone that young, but it shouldn't be an end to their coaching career.

Here is hoping some veteran coach takes him under their wing and gives him a shot, and some guidance.

What is this young man's age? And just curious as to why you think he is to young. If he is 25 or 26 that maybe a little young but someone that is 27-29 I would think would be acceptable as a coach.

I don't know his age but he played at UPike in 2013.

When he was hired, he was 23 per the Herald Leader.

■ Jordan Amis, a 2010 graduate of Perry County Central, is the Commodores' new football coach at the age of 23. Amis was a Class of the Commonwealth quarterback at Perry Central and went on to star as a wide receiver at the University of Pikeville. Amis admitted "it's sort of intimidating" to be the youngest coach in the state, but it'll be easy to relate to his players. "They understand my terminology because I'm not that much older than them," he said. "And they grew up watching me at Perry Central. They know I always laid it on the line." Amis said playing for Dudley Hilton at Pikeville "did wonders" for him and probably helped him get the job. Amis hopes to put together a veteran staff that will help him learn all facets of being a head coach.

I hope he can bounce back stronger. I'd say he has learned his lesson.

Appears Dudley Hiltons son was also arrested. As was an assistant basketball coach. Must have been some party.

2 people lost their job over it.

Were they partying in Knott County?:idunno:

Set up to fail in what way? Too young, immature to be a head coach, little to no coaching experience?

Too young to handle the situation, because of the pressure of the job?

Adults know what kids can and can't do. I don't know anything about PCC, but when you hire a 23 yr old to be a community leader you set him up to fail.
