February 7, 201511 yr http://archive.tennessean.com/article/20101024/NEWS01/10240374/Anti-Muslim-crusaders-make-millions-spreading-fear Now, listen to this guy, at the 2 minute mark. If anyone truly knows the Bible, and the history of religion, they will know that Allah is the Arabic word for God. But this guy says "Allah doesn't exist, he's a moon god". So, since Allah is God, this preacher is saying that God is "a moon god?" It's pure hate, he is spreading fear, and using religion to do so. And while doing this, this guy makes millions. February 7, 201511 yr The Bible encourages atrocities in the name of God as well. 'Encourages'? The key point is that Islam is a warrior religion. Its founder was a brutal warrior. Those who will not convert are to be killed or enslaved is fundamental to Islam. Islam does not recognize constitutional democratic government. It has its owns civil governance and laws. An interesting article on what the Koran says: 11-Year Old Christian Girl Baffles Islamic Scholar With One Simple Question - Now The End Begins : Now The End Begins An 11-year old Arab Christian girl was listening to an Islamic scholar preach about Allah. When he was done, the little girl approached him and said this – “show me where in the Koran that Allah loves me as the sinner that I am, and I will become a Muslim.” The dumbstruck man was silent for a long time, and then walked away. He had no answer to give her.
February 7, 201511 yr ^ So we want to use the opinion of someone who is just someone who is anti-Muslim? Opinion?
February 7, 201511 yr To Rockmom , the NT does not . Pretty sure I'm correct . Jesus changed things .

Those who will not convert are to be killed or enslaved is fundamental to Islam. Wasn't it Christians who forced native Americans to become Christian? If they did not convert, didn't they endure a "bit of trouble?" "Indians who survived the initial invasion were required to work and to accept Christianity. If they refused, they could be forced to comply"... "At the same time they were to be converted to Christianity by the local priests."
February 7, 201511 yr The Bible encourages atrocities in the name of God as well. I'd like to hear your expanded thoughts/elaboration on this point, RM. Are Christians today living under these encouragements in the church that Christ established?

February 7, 201511 yr As a Christian, I will submit that Christians throughout history have done some really bad things. My question is why is Obama bringing this up now? Christians have also done more GREAT things for others than any other religion. It also makes me crazy when the left will support the Republicans "war on women" nonsense but then will stand silent on how the Muslims treat women, which is just deplorable.

If we have to use comparisons of before this country was founded just stop.
February 7, 201511 yr Franklin Graham's comments wrap it up completly --to paraphrase - Christ loves everyone , he lived a perfect sin free and died for ALL . Mohamed was a warrior who killed innocent people .. Christians immolate Christ . Muslims immolate Mohomed .
February 7, 201511 yr To Rockmom , the NT does not . Pretty sure I'm correct . Jesus changed things .As a Catholic, she knows this, not sure why she left that part out.
February 7, 201511 yr So the president has to go back to the time of the Crusades to show Christian extremism? Has anyone clued him in on what year it is? I think the point people are making against the president's comments are since the time of the Crusades, Christians don't (in large numbers) kill in the name of Christ whereas in present day nothing has really changed in the Muslim world, i.e. killing in the name of Allah.
February 7, 201511 yr I'd like to hear your expanded thoughts/elaboration on this point, RM. Are Christians today living under these encouragements in the church that Christ established? I don't want to derail this discussion, but in short, Christians often use OT passages to justify social action over the course of history. My main point is that without study and guidance, misinterpretation and misapplication of any religious text is possible, and it has (and does) occur in Christianity as well.
