February 2, 201511 yr Author Why does he care (IYO) if Lynch is MVP? That's the big gap in this crazy theory of yours. He has no reason to be concerned about the MVP. You really think a coach who's in the middle of a final drive of a SB is worried about who wins the MVP? I covered that in my opening volley.
February 2, 201511 yr I covered that in my opening volley. No you didn't. You didn't give a single reason as to why Carroll would care.
February 2, 201511 yr How can each of you be sure this potential issue never crossed Carroll's mind in the last two weeks? I can't read his mind, but I have the same level of certainty he didn't call the pass play because he was stoked to see Lockette's sequel to Baldwin's toilet celebration.

February 2, 201511 yr I give up with you on this topic... Did you make the aluminum foil hat a little snug?
February 2, 201511 yr Author Cool. It's a non-topic anyways. :thumb: That you posted 6 times in. :thumb:
February 2, 201511 yr Personally I think to throw on second down was the right call but an awful play call. The Seahawks had 1 timeout and 20 some seconds left, if they were going to have to run three plays one of them would have had to be a pass. If they throw on second down and it is incomplete, then they save the TO and the third down play can either be run or pass, giving them an advantage. If they run on third and dont make it they have a timeout to discuss what to do on 4th down with the bowl in the balance and this play too could have either been run or pass. I would have thrown on second down off a play action to Lynch and had Wilson try to roll out. This gives him a run, pass, or throw it away option with no one in his face.
February 2, 201511 yr I haven't read the other threads so if this has been covered too bad. If Lynch scores at the end of the game and if the Seahawks win Lynch would have been the MVP (25 Rushes for 103 yards, 2 TDs and a clutch 31 yard reception), right? And as such he is expected to do a lot of media work, correct? This would be a disaster for the NFL, correct? Pete Carroll knew all/most of that, correct? On one hand I think it is preposterous to even think such a thing but on the other hand as long as Roger Goodell is in charge I think the NFL is capable of almost anything. This is my major problem with the NFL, they have ZERO credibility with me. They put a great product on the field and we will "all" keep watching because of that but I don't trust the NFL one inch to do the right thing. Thoughts? I covered that in my opening volley. I give up with you on this topic... No, you really didn't. You said if he won MVP he would have to do media work and it would be a disaster for the NFL. Pete probably knew that. But you why would he care. First, no way the thought of Lynch possibly being MVP ever entered his mind. But let's say it did, why would he give a crap if it was a disaster for the NFL. I will say this again. If you (meaning you in general) think any of the major pro sports is fixed, your cheese has slid off the cracker.
February 2, 201511 yr I think I read on Twitter that something like 109 passes have been attempted on the 1 yard line this year. Only one has been intercepted, last night.

I never said anything about the game being fixed so you need to address the point spread posts, not mine. You don't think Pete would care if one of his players caused a national cluster. Talking about cheese sliding off a cracker.

Marshawn's interview history has been very well publicized over his career. Not sure what "national cluster" you are referring to but everyone would know what they are getting when he steps to the mic. This is the most ridiculous conspiracy theory I've heard.
February 2, 201511 yr I doubt it. But I actually think Chris Matthews wins the MVP if the Seahawks got the win last night.

Right, a bunch of egg on the NFL's face. Real bad for business. Especially with a couple of the other high profile criminal acts committed by former players in the last couple of years. The NFL needs a smiling Tom Brady or Russell Wilson, not someone that "comes across as" a thug.
