Was just using this one post as an example. There were about 10 posts that predicted an approximate 20 + point victory.

Credit Pendleton County for coming out with fire and putting to shame the foolishness of "running clock" talk. That's an effort put in by the Wildcats that deserves to be respected and sends notice to the 38th district and region.

 

Credit Mason County for taking the A+ shot of a good shooting team for a half and having the ability to fight back and win. If you're on top you will take everyones best shot. What matters is how you respond to it. They responded with a win. Impressive.

For a few of you Mason fans it's not a disgrace to only beat PC by six points. You won the game be happy for that. No wonder fans of the tenth region love you guys.

I was way off with my prediction. Pendleton wanted this one bad. Unbelievable shooting in the first half and a pretty solid defensive performance for the Cats. Keaton Belcher definitely has them headed in the right direction. As for the Royals, they have got to defend the perimeter and get Dorian Henry the ball on offense.

Okay everyone look, Pendleton made 10 of 13 three point shots in the FIRST HALF. They still lost, if you want to beat Mason Co you have to keep the score very low and make their guards beat you. Also Dorian Henry had a very nasty 1 handled alleyoop in the 1st half. If anyome has the video please post it. Amani Thomas did not play and Pig Williams was sick for those wondering.

 

I wasn't, but Pendleton was without one starter(the 8th grader) that has been out awhile, along with another that has started quite a bit this year and must be injured, didn't see his name in the box score(Dennie,maybe)

So proud of our guys tonight. They came out focused and shot it VERY well. It took a very talented MC team to pull out a win.

 

As far as the atmosphere and environment...maybe the most fun I've had announcing a game, ever!

Credits to Pendleton county, they shot the ball really well and punch mason in the mouth threw three quarters, but the mason county started playing like mason county.

Wonder how the weather and drive back to Mason County was last night, there was a pretty good snow covering even before that game began. They was forecasting for Falmouth to get clipped pretty good as well

While this was a disappointing loss for the Wildcats there is so much that is encouraging. Hunter wood just continues to grow as a reliable point guard. Hunter Lea backs down from no one and contributes in so many ways. The bench seems to be contributing more and more. Tanner Pugh had a wonderful night in both the JV and varsity. This team has improved tremendously from day one of this season and yes I know they are currently on a 4 game losing streak.

 

Congrats to Mason County on a fine comeback. Henry is a beast and the supporting cast is not too shabby either. Nothing but respect for the Mason County program from this old guy.

This team has improved tremendously from day one of this season and yes I know they are currently on a 4 game losing streak.

Didn't see the names Gaskins, McCain and Dennie in the box score. I know they all have contributed at different points this season. Are they injured?. I know both Pugh and Browning missed some games this season as well. Will Allen be back for district tournament?

Gaskins and McCain both played a limited amount of time. Dennie has not played but once to my knowledge since his injury and did not play last night. I heard that Allen may be back before the season ends but I can't confirm that.

Pendleton County was red hot and still lost. It's going to take a big effort and a good night to beat Mason County.

 

For the most part I'd say you're correct, the Royals SHOULD win it in a walk. That being said, for the past four seasons, Mason has been considered one of the 3 or 4 teams vying for the region title, and for three of those four seasons they got to the post-season and laid an egg against a team that, on paper, they should've dominated, and the one year that they didn't they came very close. Also worth noting that Mason beat Augusta by about twenty in the regular season last year and thought they had them taken care of, then got to district and got a big surprise. This year, they only beat them by 11 in the regular season. Mason is far and away the top team right now, but once February 23rd rolls around that can change in the blink of an eye. The way I see it, the 39th still belongs to Augusta and the 10th still belongs to Campbell until somebody comes and takes it from them. For Mason to do that they'll have to break this trend of looking past post-season opponents, and only time will tell if they have.

I want to be a buyer of what you guys are selling, but things just not adding up for me. Have lost 5 of last 6. Lone win in this stretch is against 1-17 Burgin. Bad losses to Beechwood and Highlands.

 

One closer than expected loss to a very good team does not indicate that things are looking up.
