Heard on radio today that UC gets $1.5 mill a year in the deal with adidas. Could get up to $5 mill with under armor.

Notre Dame switched from Adidas to Under Armour this year.

Nike takes care of the elite programs and that is smart business. They pump money into top AAU teams with the top players in hopes that they will attend their elite Nike schools. When those kids turn pro they wear Nike. Kids today that don't play want to buy Nike only. My son will spend $250+ for the new nike shoes and won't even wear them. BTW I won't pay that much for them crazy. The other shoe company's go about it the wrong way. They are giving money to all schools and really getting nothing in return. I'm a Cardinal fan but what does adidas get in return for the fat contract they get. Kids in Louisville buy nike. The only way other shoes will catch up is to invest in the AAU teams. That could get real ugly.

If shoes were the only thing Adidas and UA sold, you'd have a pooint...

True but shoes is what drives the market. When you think about nike and adidas. You think of shoe co's not apparel. I don't associate under armor with shoes. Not sure kids do either

I would take a shot in the dark and say that 85% of high school athletes and below wear Nike. Adidas is a last option and UA is only the option when the kid that wants Nike but his size isnt available and has to have it right now, is around.

My guess is when it comes to apparel, Under Armor is just as big as Nike, if not possibly bigger. When it comes to performance, Under Armor is what all of the kids are wearing (heat gear, cold geat) and the shoes are starting pick up on the football side of things because of Cam Newton.

Nike blows the doors off of Adidas and Under Armour in terms of sales of shoes and apparel.

Adidas is slipping globally and Nike is really starting to gain a major foothold in Europe, particularly with soccer.

UA is probably passing Adidas in the USA with apparel and still needs to make some hay with their shoes.

Adidas is in a big time slump across the board.

Under Armor is on the rise and will be #2 but let's not get crazy. NIKE is the giant and it's not close.

Adidas is just plain ugly most the time.....everything doesn't have to have the HUGE 3 stripes on it

I think the 3 stripes are ugly too but that's like saying everything Nike doesn't have to have the swoosh on it.
