Curious to see what the gun is worth. I have a 22 single shot remington model 23 that is over 100 years old and still fires. I thought for sure a gun over 100 years old would be worth a lot of money. I was told that since it is rusted it is worth around $50.00

I don't think he would have left it behind because he ran out of ammo. Besides his horse, the rifle was the most important thing he onwed, IMO.
