WOW...Doss isn't even a top 30 team???? WHAT?

How does a team who has beaten 4 teams in the top 20, not make the top 20?

I just now realized that. WOW.

So Cantrall has Doss at #21 and Litkenhous doesn't have them in the top 30?????? WOW......

When you go through the maze of victories and losses by all of these teams these ratings don't make any sense at all.

I hate to factor in how KY teams do against out of state teams because we have no way of knowing how good an out of state team is.

At the same time, we have a common out of state opponent:

#7 Scott County lost to Shadow Mountain(AZ) 67-47

#8 Knott County Central beat Shadow Mountain(AZ) 69-56

And it is entirely possible that Cantrall and Lit don't take OOS games into account.

I don't think they do and that is probably the only thing I agree with when they come up with their ratings. :lol2:

I hate that the eye test doesn't factor into anything at all with their ratings. It's also like some schools get extra points for being traditional powers or playing in traditionally strong regions.

But then again, the AP polls are little more than eye ests; and we all know how accurate they are.

Lexcath isn't top 10...regardless of how anyone looks at it. They would be the 4th best team in the 9th region and 7th region.

With the exception of Ballard and Trinity who from region 7 and Cov Cath from region 9?

Could it be that they only lost to two teams from KY? Not saying that Lex Cath deserves the #6 ranking. Just throwing out reasons.

Exactly! Just like Trinity in football, they could be 6-4, 5-5 but still be ranked high in the state of KY cause of who they beat in state. Oh well just my 2 cents.

Wouldn't want to speak for Walter :), but in the 9th NewCath and Holmes and I could make an argument for Dixie Heights.

Ballard, Trinity, Manual, Male, Eastern, Central from Region 7

These ratings are garbage. It has Clay ranked behind a team that they have beat 2x's. Once on the road and once at a neutral site. And to say that Lex Cath and Scott County is in the top 10 is crazy.. just straight garbage

Ballard, Trinity, Manual, Male, Eastern, Central from Region 7

I said Ballard and Trinity. No on Eastern, Male and Central.

And Manual?

The best rankings are the BGP rankings, IMO...these are garbage, just like the other set from the Lexington Herald.

I agree. BGP always has a realistic poll.

This is not a Ranking. It is a Rating based strictly upon performance data against other in state teams. It becomes more accurate the longer we go into the season.

Actually, it is a ranking.

A ranking is a relationship between a set of items such that, for any two items, the first is either 'ranked higher than', 'ranked lower than' or 'ranked equal to' the second. By reducing detailed measures to a sequence of ordinal numbers, rankings make it possible to evaluate complex information according to certain criteria.

That is what the Litkenhouse does.

I agree that it becomes more accurate as the season goes along. However, this is what it is at this time.
