June 24, 201511 yr Just finished up Jonathan Wilson's comprehensive history on the evolution of tactical arrangements in soccer. Also re-reading Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Grey" and am just starting Buchanan's "The Calculus of Consent", a book I've always wanted to read on the idea of public choice in economics and political science. @TAC would like to borrow the soccer book.
June 24, 201511 yr Just started Baldacci's "Memory Man". It's a stand alone, not part of a series. Starting out a bit slow, as many of his books do, then they build later. Not sure what I think about it yet.

June 29, 201511 yr Randomly swung by Half-Price books yesterday. They had a 50% off sale on their clearance items. Picked up for John Grisham books and four James Patterson books that were marked $2 a piece. Got them each for $1 a piece. I wish they had more. All hardback too. For James Patterson, specifically his Alex Cross series. Do you need to read them in a certain order or does it really matter?

For James Patterson, specifically his Alex Cross series. Do you need to read them in a certain order or does it really matter? You don't have to read them in order, as each book is it's own mystery story. But he does talk a lot about his family, home life, relationships, etc. So to read them in order to be on track with that would probably be ideal.
June 29, 201511 yr ^ This. Kinda like many of the crime fiction series I read (Reacher, Cross, Bolitar, Harry Bosch, etc.). There's a flow to the series, but each stands alone. I read them as I come across them. Now, something like the Song of Fire and Ice (Game of Thrones) series...I had already found books 2-4 at a yard sale, but wouldn't read them until I picked up Book 1 quite a while later and read it first.
