Ohio State 42 Alabama 35

Plus it won't be very long at all before Harbaugh has Michigan right there in the mix as well.

With Penn State coming back too. The BIG will be back soon.

And I know I hammered the conference before, but tonight swayed me that the BIG will get better.

What an odd game. Both teams were geared to blow out the other at points.

- Jones teetered on some horrific mistakes but due to his physical stature (and good fortune) was able to overcome those, often getting loose up the middle for big gains and able to dodge two safeties.

- I thought Kiffin was wretched. Bama scored some points, but for 3/4 of the game the Tide never stayed in a consistent package to exploit their advantages. They seemed more committed to trying to spread to run and leaving the game in Sims' hands instead of their two workhorse backs.

- Bama ran plays, tOSU made plays, all night.

- tOSU did a great job of exploiting the Bama secondary. Put them in space and the offense has the advantage. All year Bama has struggled defending the pass, even if their guys are in position. You knew it was bad when Jones basically threw up a punt towards the end of the first quarter and the ball dropped between the Corner and Safety.

- Blake Sims reminded everyone tonight why he was not predicted to win the starting job. He played way above his capabilities all season, but at the end of the day there is a reason he is a converted RB.

Yep, they have the guy who was the up and coming, best young coach in the SEC.

Have enjoyed listening to the OSU pundits who be-littled them all year back pedal. Cheers to Mark May and the rest of your espn cronies!

I agree in that they certainly should have but I couldn't tell if they just got off the field on their own when game ended before Saban saw tgem leaving or not. I am not sure tat I could lay that all on Nick. jmo.

Most of the FSU team left w.o shaking hands with Oregon as well

I am being sarcastic. It was an issue because FSU didn't do it. When Bama didn't do it nobody said anything. The FSU hate is maddening.

Loved it. I had people telling me on Facebook for the last month or so that the Buckeyes didn't belong in the playoffs, and that they would finish 5th or 6th in the SEC. When it was 21-6 some of them started the trash talking, but I wasn't worried because the Buckeyes were moving the ball, and had hurt themselves with turnovers more than Alabama had hurt them. I'm willing to bet that most people who were trashing the Buckeyes hadn't watched more than 5 minutes of them since the Virginia Tech game. If they had they should have known that this Buckeye team had an offensive team that could put up points on anybody.

I was one who was skeptical of OSU's deservance of being in the playoff, and I am glad I was wrong. I don't think there could have been a better team to knock off Bama than Ohio State. :lol2: I have thoroughly enjoyed the SEC Pity Party, and look forward to it continuing today.

Congrats to JA, oldrambler, and NCF. :thumb:

Thank you sir, you're a good man and one of the most knowledgable people on this board. Heck, I've tried to become neutral or at least objective to UL because of you. (At least in football lol).

Can't describe the feeling waking up an "SEC champ." I just hope next year people tone down the OSU trashing.

I appreciate the kind words. We don't HAVE to be at each other's throats all the time. :D

Karma bites the Bama boosters in their behinds. I'm happy in a way they lost. What their boosters did to UAB was a joke.

Alabama entered the game #1 in rushing defense allowing 88 yards per game.

Ezekiel Elliott had 230... Dude looks like an NFL star to me as a sophomore...

What did they do?

Very cryptic...
