I had a feeling the four team system wouldn't work. It needs to at least be 8, 16 would be nice and could allow for an upset or two ala college basketball.

 

TCU looks incredible in this game. There was a lot of controversy about them and Baylor not getting in, I expect there will be even more now. Imo, TCU could beat anyone the way they are playing today. Unfortunetly, they will never have the chance.

I completely agree, but then that leaves controversy about not letting OSU or Baylor in. Let at least 8 in and you start eliminating any doubt. There will always be someone on the "bubble" that will think they should have gotten in, but there would be much less controversy if they would let 8 in. The way it is now, everyone will still be thinking "what if."

Is 3 point loss @ Baylor a better loss than a 14 point loss at home against Va Tech? IMO it is! But who did TCU really beat to say we belong?

Completely agree, they have watered down the NCAA basketball tourney allowing so many teams in. It was at its best when they let 32 in, imo.

 

With football I think 8 could work, but honestly I would like to see 16, to give that cinderella effect that we had in basketball. Whether its 8 or 16, I believe more times than not the best team would win it. However with 16, we would likely see an upset or two along the way, which makes it exciting.

8 is the perfect number for playoff teams. What TCU is doing today doesn't make a case for it IMO. It should have been 8 teams from the jump. Especially with a season like the one we had this year.

Expand it to 6. Power 5 conference champions get in plus one at large. The top 2 teams get a bye. And 3-6 play with the highest seed at home. These games are played the weekend before Xmas eve, with the next round to be played on New Years. The problem with expanding the playoffs is the earlier the games get, they intervene with players finals. Make them later and the season gets into the next semester. You can't expand too much

I would be perfectly fine with this. I've always screamed make it 8 teams but I like this plan right here as well. Top two teams getting byes is a nice touch.

The whole system is screwed up FSU should be #1 team 29 straight wins. TCU should be ranked 4th. OSU has no business being in the final four.

That's too much for me. I only pay true attention to the playoff games. All the other games are meaningless to me. No way I'd be into watching the #1 team play the #16 team. I'd watch the fourth quarter if it was close. Call me when they get to 8 teams. I wouldn't pay any attention to the 17-32 teams.

Also the 17-32 wouldn't fly because coaches wouldn't want to get rid of bowls. Winning bowl games are huge for recruiting. Losing in an NIT type tournament would do nothing
