Trinity 76 Boyle County 44

Trinity gets 3rd place

Boyle County just looked tired. 5 games in 5 days is a lot.

Great weekend here for my Rebels!!! I'm very proud of the weekend we had!! I'll take 4th place with a huge smile on my face.

It'll only make you better.

Trinity looked tired too. City of Palms tourney, air travel and this tournament. The holidays are a grind for these kids in the holiday tournaments.

I agree. I thought Trinity looked tired also and they have a lot of miles on those legs in a short amount of time as well.

Yes, that's why it looks like a glorified pickup game. Pretty much everyone was going through the motions.

Talked to a couple of Boyle player after the game and they said that they could not feel their legs. Both team were really tired.

I was really disappointed in Boyle today. It sounds like I caught them on a bad night. Bell and Elkins both showed flashes of potential to be dominant players, but the rest of the team didn't add anything to them.

Win or lose, today wouldn't have been a good day to watch Boyle County play. Any game after today will be a much better choice.

This is by no means a bash on either team or players but I think the whole 5 games in 5 days or 4 games in 4 days is a little bit of a rip off. The majority of the players who played in this game are used to playing 2-3 games a DAY during the summer and AAU seasons. Just an observation. I'm sure the game would be more entertaining if they played each other on a Tuesday night after a 3-4 day lay off. Best of luck to both teams moving forward.

I understand when people say that also but as someone who has been to many AAU tournaments and seen many kids play in tons of games over the course of the weekend a blind man can see the quality of basketball on Sunday is awful compared to the quality of play on Fridays and Saturdays. I'll also add that normally on those weekends these kids go from the gym back to the hotel and back to the gym. Not to the school, back home, back to the school to catch the bus, ride the bus, play the game, ride the bus back to school, then go home. Wake up the next day and repeat. Five days in a row. Anyone who thinks that doesn't affect the players and coaches is living in a utopia. It absolutely affected the players.

The game would have definitely been more entertaining had they played on 3-4 days rest. That's all anyone is really saying. Nobody is saying, "we'd have won or blah blah blah". We're simply saying a blind man could see how tired BOTH teams were.

My kid played a total of two minutes the whole tournament and he came home took a shower and is knocked out right now. I can't imagine how worn out he'd be if he had played 25+ minutes for the past 5 nights in a row.

I just drove there, took pictures and videos and posted Tweets...combined with working my other job...and I'm beat. I can't imagine how the players feel.

Besides both teams being tired, is there any other info on the game, e.g., who played well, who scored a lot, how bad were the refs, etc.? I have no knowledge as to what happened.

I mean no disrespect to any of the kids but it was an uneventful and uninspiring game. It really was. I think Ramser played well for Trinity and Jeremiah Bell had a good game for Boyle. Elkins and Spalding scored on each other once or twice. Both had a couple of blocks and affected shots. Hagen Tyler showed off his sweet jumper a couple of times. D'Angelo West had a couple of nice drives. Stafford did a good job of running the Trinity offense. Nobody stood out. Everyone was there and everyone played. I'm sure Trinity was disappointed to be playing for third place and for myself I was just happy Boyle County was there in the top 4 of this tournament. Both teams learned a lot from this weekend. Time for district play!!!!!!
