I always hate when I feel like the Bengal's will do well. It's usually the opposite happens. The first game, as bad as they were, is no indication of this game, imo. AJ Green was out, Burfict and Hall left the game early, and they were without Maualuga and Lamur I believe. The Bengals struggled big time early on when the starting LB's were first injured. Over the course of the season they improved a great deal.

 

The sad part is Dalton looks bad in the first half of games but comes out the second half and seems to be pretty good but then you have the fumbles and drops by the Wr's and RB's. I just wish they would all play good at the same time.

 

I think the Bengals will be able to run the ball and with Indy's O-Line issues the Bengal front four will get some pressure and the Bengals win 30-24.

I say Colts by a lot.

Apparently AJ got a concussion on the fumble play which isn't good. If AJ is out then I Hope Hir is smart enough to put Gio and Hill in the backfield together all game because that will be there only hope.

 

I have been clamoring, especially as Sanu has padded his Earth-leading drops statistics, to have the Bengals put Hill in the backfield and Gio and Rex in the slots, and create a lot of opportunities with mismatches. They ran about 3 plays like that this past week, so I hope we see more of that.

First three weeks of the season and Bengal fans were talking super bowl. Fast forward to last week, Bengal fans are yelling, in unison, who-day after the win over the Broncos.Fast forward to last night, just like the Christmas music, it was silent night. How can the Bengals fans be optimistic about this game with the Bengals past performances in the playoffs? We all know the Bengals can have great games, but, we know they can be terrible also. Hope we see a great game with no serious injuries. I say Colts by a lot.

Hope springs eternal. As you said, Bengals can and have had great games. I prefer to think the best and am willing to accept the disappointment that often comes with that optimism. I think it's much preferable to being miserable in the days leading up to the game. This is the time for excitement, why not us? The time for disappointment will come soon enough unless we're the lucky fans of the one team standing in the end.

If they go into Indy and win, will that be enough to silence the critics and the doubters? Say they win in Indy then get beaten in a competitive game in either Denver or NE. Are you good with that?

Colts. I've totally given up on the Bengals ever winning another playoff game.

 

And this is where I stand. I think Cincy is better, but until they win a playoff game, I will not pick them to win one.

I don't usually make predictions, but playoffs and playoff wins shouldn't be used in the same sentence when talking about the Beagles.(Woops, did it again.) :sssh:

 

I won't be serving any crow if you're incorrect, but I also won't be applauding you for being correct (because I'll be bitter). I am just glad that you made a prediction, often times newer folks like to rip other people's predictions, while they themselves never go on record with taking a stance. You may well end up being correct...but I sure hope not.

I am as it would represent improvement and give us something to build on next year. Now whether or not it would silence the critics is a whole different matter. I suspect not although it should give the doubters some hope.

Good question, and something I have pondered lately.

 

Personally, I'll (obviously) be happy with a win, especially on the road at Indy. But a lot depends on how the team plays in that 2nd round game. If the Bengals show up & play well, but get beat...nothing to be ashamed of. But, if they come out flat & lay an egg, it'll be a lot of the same rhetoric.

Not for me. I've said for a couple years that simply winning one game

does not get this staff off the hook. With all the talent they have had and all the time they have had to rebuild starting in 2003 that getting to a AFCCG is the goal.

 

1 win does not all of a sudden erase all the losing.

If people were happy with just 1 playoff win would be a sad site and show how low their expectations are.

 

Lets get to the AFCG at least. That would make me happy with Marvins job this year.

I really think they have to. If anything, to help Andy out and give him more options that are safer options.
