If 84% of the bets are on the Indy, the "sharks" have their money on the Bengals.

Who cares why he did it....he did it. Agreed it was way late, but you can't undo it so we may as well enjoy the present (and hopefully the future).

 

I really don't disagree with the above at all. I will never like Mike Brown though for the way he has run the Bengals and for the way he has treated the city of Cincy on some things...some well publicized and some not. I do root for the Bengals to win but will not pay a nickel for a ticket until he is out of the picture.

Like MTGL said above about the masses...they are usually wrong. I am sure most of the masses are just looking at the last game and saying "heck, they beat them 27-0 last time and they are only giving 3 points now? You gotta take the Colts". The sharks know better than to look at things so simplistically. I would stay away from this game. I could see the Bengals losing by 21 or winning by 10...

I'm going to stick with my pre-season prediction of Bengals winning their 1st round playoff game. Also still predicting they lose the one after that.

I hope you are right, but if they do win I hope people aren't happy with just that. They need to go deep in the playoffs to prove they are legit, a 1 win and loss next week does nothing for this team except please the masses who are happy with 1 playoff win in over 20 years.

The point is, even with the majority placing money on the Colts, there isn't a odds maker with an ounce of sanity who would pick the Bengals unless they gave them 14 pts. I just don't find it very interesting. Especially with the struggles downfield the Bengals have had and with AJ out. I hope I'm wrong though and the Bengals win by double digits.

No, I never said anyone should picket anything. I'm just saying that 1 playoff win for a team that hasn't won a playoff game in over 20 years should lead people to believe the Bengals are now a top contender and everyone should simply forget about the struggles this coach has had for over a decade.

 

Everyone should be estactic with a win tomorrow, never said I wouldn't be. All I'm saying is does 1 win followed by a loss really mean anything? Isn't the goal each year to win the Super Bowl? There are 32 teams in the league and out of those 32 teams there have been 31 teams that have already won in the postseason since Boomer Essiason was the starting QB for the Bengals. 1 team hasn't won since then and it's the Bengals. So I'm confused with how 1 win followed by a loss means everyone should be satisfied.

 

Thats similar to saying a employee who is late for work everyday for a month yet on the last day of the month he shows up on time but the next day he is late again. Does that mean he should be forgiven for being late all those times?

No, I would think if 84% of the bets are on the Colts the line would increase making the Colts an even larger favorite.

I am surprised the spread has not gone up a little to get the 84% number closer to 50%. Not sure about the answer to your question about the 16% laying big dollars on the Bengals. It would make sense though...small casual bettors betting in mass for the Colts and the guys who do this for a living and betting big dollars going with the Bengals...thus evening it out.

That is my thinking, the masses are betting on the Colts and the pros are betting big on the Bengals.
