Ending Of Boyle County/Whitley County Game

Featured Replies

Blame it on the ref if you want, but if Colton reacts to the play instead of watching it until the shot goes up, he probably gets the rebound and there is no foul.

It was obviously a foul. Hit him in the head and across the arms.

Some say you can't call it THERE. How much time would be required before that foul can be called?

I certainly don't see that. At all.

Wrong. Boyle County played horribly and Whitley County dictated the game. Whitley County made Boyle County play their game and other than that last call the referees did a much better job on Sunday than they did on Saturday. The fact of the matter is that had Boyle County played the way they are capable of they would have won by 10+. Instead they let Whitley County dictate the entire game and paid the price by leaving the decision of the game in the referees hands. Whitley County did what they needed to do to win the game and I don't think anyone has said otherwise.

And yes, I was there.

Just curious....... Wrong about what?????

Most seasoned referees I know would have let that go and gone to overtime.

On another note, that was a great pass on the side out of bounds play. i would guess the kid had time to catch and go back up. Great pass.

About Boyle County coaches/players/fans to keep thinking Whitley County would just go away. Whitley County played a great game and deserved to win.

That was our QB who threw it. :D

The kid flopped, no question.

OK. I appreciate that. I hate it came down to the last call when there was so much more to the game. Good luck to Boyle in the 12th!!!!

Thanks. I call it like I see it. Whitley County was the better team last night. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season as well! :thumb:

What video are you watching or did you see it live?? The kid deserves an Oscar for that flop job. And answer this. How did that bozo of a ref know how much time to put on the clock. Wasn't his call to make to begin with.

Did they put time on the clock ?

Did they put time on the clock ?

Yes. They conferred for about 2-3 minutes and then made the decision to put .1 on the clock.

While I do disagree with the foul call the referee did blow the whistle before the buzzer sounded so time would have been needed to put be put back on the clock. Any time that more time or less time has to be adjusted on the clock it is almost always a guess. Since he called the foul before the buzzer sounded it is really hard to figure out how much time should be on the clock without instant replay.

Going back to watch the video when the ref blew the whistle the time on the clock had expired but the buzzer hadn't sounded. That's a scoreboard issue. When is the game officially over? When the clock hits 0.0 or when the buzzer sounds? Whole new issue.

Well, well. A weekend in Barbourville. What fun.:lol2:

 I agree with Clyde, this was a foul.

A ref doesn't have the luxury of instant replay, he has to make the call on the spot. Seeing this the first time, I too, would of called the foul.

Was this his call to make, NO. The baseline Ref. needed to move over and make this call, but as you can see in the video he did not, and he was blocked from view by another player.

The Call on the floor: Foul!!! White, number 2...5....
