December 17, 201411 yr First, if you're gonna defend the man have enough respect to spell his name right (Fisher). And second, there is no "he's claiming" that Barrett is a heisman candidate, Barrett finished 5th in the voting that is absolutely a heisman candidate. Didn't get an invite because he got hurt and obviously wasn't going to win it but do you think that had he not gotten hurt and led OSU to a 59-0 win over Wisconsin he wouldn't have at least had a seat in New York? So the defending national champion that returns nearly the entire offense, including the Heisman trophy winning QB isn't expected to win all it's regular season games? Especially in the ACC which was down this year. Meyer is on his third QB and is playing for a national championship. That's about the most outstanding thing I've ever heard. That's not just the best coaching job of this season, but the best in my memory. OSU was not favored against MSU, I don't believe. I'm not discrediting Jimbo, but how many other coaches could win with the best talent in the country? Saban doesn't win at FSU this year? Larry Coker proved it's easy to win with talent. Jimbo has dealt with distractions, but those are self inflicted by the University, his QB and himself. No one has ever accomplished what Meyer has the chance to do. I don't think he will but he's still done a phenomenal job. JMO, but Fisher deserves credit but not national coach of the year. Beating Louisville, Clemson, Miami and Florida this year with superior talent is no where near as impressive to me as Meyer this year.
December 17, 201411 yr I choose #1 What a great reason. :lol2:, :isurrender:........... I don't think that he is caption personality myself but there has been no one that has done a better job in this 2013 season than Meyer.
December 17, 201411 yr I could very well be wrong but I believe that Miller is staying put at OSU. Usually, if a starter, especially one as talented as Miller is injured the job is his upon his return. Yes, he would have to earn it but I think that he is just that good. Millers obvious down side is that he's injury prone. Should that happen again, OSU will have another Heisman quality QB to put in. jmo and I don't know what if anything he will do.

I have never understood the love fest for Miller? He is talented, however he really has never done anything in big games that mattered has he? I have told some of my friends this who are huge OSU fans. I have been much more impressed with the QB that replaced him this year, than I ever have been with him. Yes Miller had all the hype coming into college, however the QB this year was more impressive than what I had seen from Miller. If I am a OSU fan, I would want the QB they had this year to start. I believe his play has already surpassed anything Miller has done, and I believe his ceiling is still higher to get even better.
December 18, 201411 yr Surprised nobody has asked what if Cardale beats Bama and takes the Bucks to the title game...?

I believe his play has already surpassed anything Miller has done, and I believe his ceiling is still higher to get even better. It's not so much a "have to have" scenario with me in that way, I feel that both are great. I said that bc I just know how very high that Meyer is on Miller, I heard him say in a couple of interviews something like "We're not too bad with the best QB in the country out for the season. That was somewhat "tounge in cheek" I feel but Meyer, before Miller was injured was raving about how much better he was, even from the POY year the previous season. I, also feel that should Miller go elsewhere and/or stay and be injured again (he is injury prone) that OSU will not miss a beat. As everyone saw, another Heisman candidate quality QB took Miller's place. Either QB and the Bucks are just as good, no fall off. At any rate, it should be interesting to see how it plays out. They now have to try and find a way to beat Bama with #3 QB.
December 30, 201411 yr That article said if not FSU, then DUKE?! Why Duke of all places? I had heard his short list was FSU, Oregon, then UK. But Duke makes as much sense if not more than UK. They've had more success the last couple years and he would look better there playing against ACC competition than at UK playing against future NFL defenses every Saturday.

December 30, 201411 yr Where did you hear was interested in UK? Just hearsay. Heard it from someone who said they seen it somewhere online. Can't confirm it.

December 31, 201411 yr David Cutcliff is the head coach at Duke. He has done well with some NFL quarterbacks when they were in college, Eli and Payton Manning. So that's why Duke.
