Pulaski County 14 Graves County 7 (Class 5A State Championship)

Featured Replies

This was a good game to watch. Pulaski looked unstoppable the 1st qtr but then Graves D really stepped up. Graves had no passing game and that hurt them big time. Just seemed the QB for Graves could never get a good grip on the ball in the rain.

If you are a fan of defenses then this was your game.

Pulaski gave Graves several

chances but Graves could never capitalize.

Once it was evident Graves could not throw the ball effectively, Pulaski basically teed off on Crider. 91 of his 133 rushing yards came on their lone scoring drive early in the game.

#2 Johnson for Pulaski is as game as they come. He was getting pounded and kept getting back up. Tough and talented kid.

Congratulations to Pulaski. Dillion Reed didn't really throw the ball great all season. From all the graves highlights I've seen all season, it looked like 90 percent of the passes he threw were ducks. Anyways, congratulations to gc never in a million years did I see that school playing for a state championship. They've came a long ways over the years.

Graves practiced in McCracken's indoor facility this week. No passing game really screwed the Eagles, a total of 8 yds of passing just wasn't gonna get it done tonight

Congrats to Pulaski County. Having seen this group of kids at the middle school level I can say

I am happy for them. Really cool to see them play and achieve this level of achievement. For all the Highlands folks thinking BG is their road block to a 5A title.....this Pulaski team is young and is coming back next year.

Congrats to the kids at Pulaski Co. Watched them work for this for 2 yrs now, very exciting night last night. Next years team should be just as good if not better. Looking forward to that journey as well.

Congrats on a great year to Graves Co

Graves got about 1/2 its games total offense on the 1 scoring drive, but, same could be said for Pulaskii. They got over 1/2 theres on there 2 scoring drives. The Eagles have very little speed even with there skill players. There WRs are primarily possession receivers and none of them are going to win many foot races.. There lack of ability to get open and the QBs lack of ability to get a grip on the ball was a killer. Credit Pulaski's DBs for excellent coverage and there DL for not giving the QB any time to get someone open. I do think on several of the scrambles, Reed could have picked up big yards with his legs, but, he seemed hesitant to take off with it, for some reason. I was impressed with #2 and #44 for Pulaski.. They were a couple of tough hombres and Crider was very tough on both sides, he just didn't get much help over there. Hard to carry a team when the entire D is keying on you and there's no other threat to hurt you..

Highlands will have many roadblocks next year. With Covington Catholic and Dixie Heights in our new district I'm not looking past the regionals at this point.

Hey Pride!

As a grad of Alma Mater, you remember Vito Tisdale, right? Well, Vito Jr will be a freshman next season, and he's supposed to be a bowling ball rolling downhill! In fact, they might not be a factor in the coming season, but the next two classes are supposed to be on a par of the three that won consecutive championships. It's going to get real interesting in 5A very soon, especially with Owensboro moving up too!

It wouldn't surprise me to see Highlands, Pulaski Co, BGHS, Owensboro, and CovCath (in no particular order) be in the top five or six on a consistent basis for a while!

Congrats to the Pulaski County Maroons! They had a really good team this year. If their QB doesn't get hurt, they "may" have gone undefeated.

Also Congrats to a very tough Graves County team. NO ONE expected them to be in the state championship game and they believed in themselves and won at BG and at John Hardin, two very tough places to play. Great season.

I think he'll just be an 8th grader next year.

Could be a 5A Championship without a 5A team? I have yet to understand why schools get to play out of their class.

Dixie I think losses a ton to graduation this year so they will be a totally different team next year. Still I think 5 A should be pretty fun to follow next year.

OK...thanx for the correction. But he's still going to be a load!!
