Word is David Cutcliffe turned down the UM job.

 

If true, a DUKE football coach turned down Michigan.

 

Can it be any worse than it is at Michigan right now? Coaches are lining up to tell them no and the basketball team has lost consecutive home games to New Jersey Institute of Technology and Eastern Michigan. NJIT is a team that should be on Thomas More's schedule. How is Mich even playing them, let alone losing to them??

Florida had to go get Colorado State's coach not a ton of elite guys willing to move or available, esp of Miles says no for the what 3rd time, or if Harbaugh says no. Nobody would surprise me from and up and comer in Stoops or a washed up Kiffin or Gruden.

Cutcliffe has said on numerous occasions he is staying at Duke. What he has built there is quite a feat. He will be there til he retires.

Gruden has been mentioned for every job for a half decade yet gets none. Kiffin has bounced around from NFL to college to college. Not a trend for great coaches.

I'm not sure it is as cut-and-dried as UKMF does. I think they are both great jobs, and in some cases for very different reasons, but for every "here is why Michigan is a better job", I could counter with "here is why Nebraska is a better job". Some would also depend on what you want in a job as a football coach.
