He is a horrendous free throw shooter.Though his jump shot has improved tremendously since last year, like the rest of his game. To judge him from last year isn't fair to his game. I'm not sure how many 3's he's taken this year though aside from the three vs oak ridge.

I respectfully disagree in that he isn't a legitimate 3 point shooter. Rose is probably 20x a better shooter than Spalding but I just don't believe the sentiment that he can't shoot the three ball.

I took it as him saying Spalding can't shoot the three, which I believe I was correct in believing.

Could anyone anywhere really think Spalding is as good of a shooter as Rose from LCA? I haven't seen him in the vaunted AAU, but seriously....stop.

Maybe I missed it, but where did I say or even imply he was as good a shooter as Rose? I'm almost positive I was advocating that he has the ability to shoot the three. In fact I said Rose is probably 20x better shooting the three than Spalding.

All good my brother.

????

New hot thing....its EARLY...slow down cheeto

Early? I have been saying since his freshman year that David Simmons is the next big thing. Maybe some of you guys are just late.

I see you signed up just in time for hoops season. So you ain't said it here that long.

David Simmons will be Mr. Baskeball without a doubt as long as Henderson makes deep run at Rupp.

After watching last nights game I will definitely agree that David Simmons is a great ball player and will play at the next level. However I do not think he is elite in his play. He makes a lot of silly errors and wild shots in the two games I've seen him play. While I would put him in the top 25 players for sure, he isn't even close to the top 5 and I don't think in the top 10.

Those so called wild shots have been falling for him since he was 8 years old. IF you have watched him that much then you have noticed not 1 player he has played against has even slowed him down (trinity, manual, lex cath, hopkinsville, Henry clay). Agree he has things to work on but name a player in the state that has nothing to work on to play at next level and I might believe you know what you are talking about. I don't mean this ugly it's just fact.

He proved in Lexington at the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic that he is worthy of being mentioned as one of the top 10 players in the state. He has the tournament MVP trophy to prove it as well.

Your right, he should be in the conversation, but I am not sure he is elite. He is a fantastic ball handler, but panics a little when pressured. The game he needs to work on is shooting, he is not a great shooter if he isn't around the basket, and he will need to improve that to succeed at the next level. He has definitely matured as a player over the past couple years and his confidence level is a big part of that. Now, because of what he has accomplished so far this year, I do think he should be a candidate for Mr. Kentucky although I don't think he has a chance because he wasn't on the radar as much preseason.

All of this is obviously opinion, but I think I have seen enough of the top talent in Ky to give an educated opinion and not biased.

Does anyone know if he has any offers yet?

not 1 player he has played against has even slowed him down

define "slow down", because that can be said for a whole lot of players in the state as well.

With a few games left is it time to resurrect this thread?

I think it will be between Cam Justice, Jalen Perry, Ray Spalding and David Simmons.

I still think Bolden is in the conversation.

Averaging 20 ppg, 5 rpg, 5 apg and is easily one of the top 3 players in the state for 2015.

If he can lead Holmes to the state tournament and they win a game or two, hard to argue him not being a finalist.

He should score his 2,000th point in the next two or three games. Only 47 away.
