We don't. No one knows anything but this is the internet so outrage and running off without any real direction in mind is sort of the name of the game.

Alrighty...the black stormtrooper is actually the lead male character in the new movie. He is force sensitive and breaks away from the Empire. They are hunting him as a deserter.

 

He ends up being trained by Luke Skywalker at some point.

 

I'd wager that Star Wars has reached more people than Homer and has had a bigger impact on culture as well.
