November 29, 201411 yr I think Neal Brown is an outstanding coach. As a UK fan, would love to see him stay. As a Neal Brown fan, I am for whatever is best for him and his family. I have called a lot of plays with young teams, injured teams, transitioning a program, teams that weren't sure they could win, limitations the general public was unaware of....etc. It is tough to do, in my opinion.
November 29, 201411 yr I hate he is leaving and I wish him well. I'm kind of surprised he is leaving but it's hard to turn down a head coaching gig.
November 29, 201411 yr I agree with Coach above me. Neal is a great guy and coach despite the complaints . Once a Rebel, Always a Rebel. #RebelPride #SmithGuys

Lol..yeah maybe if he continues to call the same plays over and over, eventually the offensr we will gain a few yards..
November 29, 201411 yr I'm sure his difficulties at UK have had nothing to do with a talent deficit, right? I mean, it's not like he knows nothing about coaching offense, given his history or video game numbers. In all honesty, UK only has 1 true playmaker(Williams) and a QB who still needs to work on his accuracy and pocket presence to be a consistent QB, so his timid play calling is more than likely a result of these factors on not on his ability as an offensive coordinator. Wish him well.
November 29, 201411 yr Lol..yeah maybe if he continues to call the same plays over and over, eventually the offensr we will gain a few yards.. UK is continuing to dig itself out of a HUGE whole that was left by the prior coach. If they gain 3 games next year as they did this year, then everything will be forgotten. Lets be real, UK won 5 games and were very close to adding 2 more. The SEC is a tough place to be when you are trying to start from scratch in the sport of football. GO CATS

They lost to Indiana. Enough with the lame excuses...
November 29, 201411 yr I've heard enough of the lame excuses about talent. 1) talent doesn't prevent you from throwing the ball down the field 2) talent doesn't keep you from getting your QB and team in a rhythm 3) was his talent at these other schools where he put up "video game numbers" so much better? 4) talent doesn't hide that your being predictable
November 29, 201411 yr Mizzou won the SEC East. They lost to Indiana. Enough with the lame excuses... SEC east is average at best, I agree, still hard to win with frosh, sophs and jc newcomers.
November 29, 201411 yr The best for UK is if Neal was to stay. IMO Kenutcky does not need to start over again with a new coach. UK gives up 44, 50, and 60 points in the last 3 games and the talk is about the offense. Alabama hasn't scored that many points in a 3 game stretch.
November 29, 201411 yr The offense has consistently put the defense in bad spots, their lack of being able to convert 3 rd downs keep UK's defense on the field. The defense always spends considerable more time on the field than the offense. Besides I thought the whole concept of this offense was that you can do more with less and don't have to play Alabama defense...
November 29, 201411 yr 1) Talent doesnt prevent you from throwing it down field but Talent does affect who catches that ball. 2) Talent doesn't affect the rhythm? Well then I guess we should be winning championships under Brooks, Joker and Stoops then. Because Talent clearly doesn't matter. I mean I guess all the championships Alabama and Auburn have are because they are like Musical instruments and have Rhythm. It's not like they have talent or anything like that. 3) Yes, Baron Batch and Jace Amaro both went to the NFL from Texas Tech. How many from Kentucky? 4) Every coach in the NCAA is somewhat predictable. I bet if you watch the Iron Bowl tonight that you will see Auburn trying to get the ball into Sammy Coates hands. If they do and it doesn't work. Does that mean Auburn has a Bad OC? Also, I am pretty sure on #3. I can and have put up better stats than that on my video games. I'm CAL on here and I'm the QB and I'm 71 TDs with 9 Ints. 6345 passing yards and been sacked 32 times . 11 Rushing touchdowns. Not to gloat or anything but those are not Video game stats my friend. Try again . #RebelPride

If you want that kind of offense then UK might want to consider what Navy and Ga Tech do and turn to the triple option. They dont have superior athletes and they do pretty well against the big boys.

ECU is running a great offense and I don't think their talent is any better than UK's.
