December 3, 201411 yr Is that Brown's salary at Troy? If so, only about a $100K more than what he made at UK, tells me if they really wanted him to stay they could've made it happen, unless he really wanted to go. I am all for advancing your career. Being a head coach is better than being the OC at UK.

I was told he took less money to make a bigger lot for hiring assistants. Hearing he may reach out close to his roots for a DC.
December 3, 201411 yr As for all the hate about Neal's play calling.....all I am going to say is that it is hard for your offense to be ran when using the wrong quarterback.
December 3, 201411 yr I was told he took less money to make a bigger lot for hiring assistants. Hearing he may reach out close to his roots for a DC. Oh really? He's probably not getting UK assistants simply because of money. So that means "roots" as in Boyle County.
December 3, 201411 yr As for all the hate about Neal's play calling.....all I am going to say is that it is hard for your offense to be ran when using the wrong quarterback. Who was the right qb? Also, wouldn't Brown have a large say so in who is the starting qb?

December 3, 201411 yr Who was the right qb? Also, wouldn't Brown have a large say so in who is the starting qb? The feedback I'm getting is that not even Stoops had much say so in the QB position if there wasn't a clear cut winner. 1. Barker 2. Phillips
December 3, 201411 yr Let's all keep in mind that Barker was brought in by the new coaching staff. The rest were inherited quarterbacks. Also keep in mind that Brown wanted Kyle Bolin but it was too late for him.
December 3, 201411 yr I think the OL play killed Towles this year. At the begginung of the year he was stepping up in the pocket while getting pass rushed, and made the throws. By the end he faced so much pressure he kept bailing even if there was none.

December 3, 201411 yr If Brown and Stoops didn't decide on the QB, who decided? Influential people. I don't have names just passing on information that I am hearing.
December 3, 201411 yr Influential people. I don't have names just passing on information that I am hearing. Interesting.. Stoops doesn't seem like the kind of guy that's going to let outsiders dictate his team. Personally I believe Towles is better than Phillips. Barker, I have no idea, but I can see why the staff may want to redshirt him so that he has 4 years of eligibility when UK would be in better shape to compete than this year. If in fact what you say is true, Stoops won't be at UK long. He's not the kind of guy thats going to let people who aren't on his staff dictate how he coaches. That said, at this point its just a rumor it appears.
December 3, 201411 yr Influential people. I don't have names just passing on information that I am hearing. If that is the case, the UK football program is in huge trouble. I have a really hard time believing somebody other than the coaches made the decision on the starting QB.
December 4, 201411 yr Influential people. I don't have names just passing on information that I am hearing. I have heard the same. Very troubling.
