Because they got the 'blues'. 5A NKY will be a tad tougher next fall.

I don't thnk they hid from anyone. Conner was moving up to 6A and they knew the district would be all schools in the area and so sure that is why they moved up. Not even sure if they even knew of CCH and HHS wanting to move up, why would they? Also they are playing Highlands next couple years so there is no hiding from anybody.

Personally I wish they would have stayed in 5A but it's not my call. I see them with a much better chance to win state in 5A than 6A but that's just me.

You may be right. Conner also elected to move up to 6A. They were not classified 6A by enrollment. Either way, they had a nice run in 5A while they were there.

The thing you have to look at here, is did this penalty cost them the game?.... No.

Then you have to ask, did the player sitting the second half, cost them the game? No

There will be all kinds of, what ifs, and could haves, but I would agree that he sits the remainder of the game.

That is what coaches get paid for, to be that bridge between players and refs.

Yes it was words this week, but what if next time it is a bump.

Refs aren't always the best, or so it seems when you are not getting the calls, but they are a neutral force in every game.

Actions have consequences, and as you seen, after the remarks, the ref did throw the $@&?!@& flag :)

I know I joke around on here a lot, but to slam a coach for keeping his team classy..... No way

Both teams played great and made great adjustments, good luck to Palaski next week, and to Cooper next year.

Just a closing note...... The Kellar twins are beasts, I will have to watch more Cooper games next year.

When I am not watching my Bluebirds!!!!

You will get your chance to watch them and your Bluebirds week one next season. You know, when the Jags move up due to fear of the new 5A......good grief.

The Kellers play hard, give it all they got, no doubt. Just wish they were 4-6 inches taller. There is a lot of talent of this Jags squad, and they aren't losing a ton to graduation. I think any one of the three QB possibilities for next year are sound and capable. A lineman and safety who were out all this year will return, hopefully even stronger and faster than before they were injured. We have a lot to be proud of and a lot to look forward to.

I am new to Bluegrass Preps but I think the real tragedy here is that instead of commenting about the season the Jags had,, the majority of this thread is talking about a player getting pulled from the game and a parent who is upset about it. Everyone is saying the same thing,, that the player getting pulled did not affect the outcome of the game so apparently whoever went in covered the position sufficiently.

This team had a great season,, I do not think they were predicted to go this far and for that we can be happy for what they accomplished. Apparently,, the coaching staff made some great adjustments to get this far with such a young team. I applaud the Cooper coaching staff and all the players on a great season. You can be proud of the efforts you made,,, keep working hard and hopefully you can make another run next year.

I agree. The reason is that two posters from cooper are basically saying play the kid at all cost so we win, and the rest of us are trying to get through to them that actions have consequences. Now, both of them are finally admitting that that's true, but they still want to dictate what those consequences are. Where else in life does that happen? What are we teaching our kids if we allow their views to go unquestioned? I guarantee the next person to step out of line on coopers team will know the consequences before it's handed out.

I've had three boys grow up and learn similar life lessons that their consequences have actions. It's made them better men. If these few posters will stop posting and let it settle it might happen for them and that young man. And more importantly we can talk about the game and the great season cooper had uninterrupted. Which is the way it should be.

Why are you even still discussing this? Talk football. It's over!

Take it private if you have anything else to say.

Thanks Glory Days. There's no sting in the loss. I'm extremely proud of the jaguar team for their fight and effort this year. Minor life lesson learned for the player. He'll move on and be a model citizen now.

Nice sarcasm. Now hopefully he won't "loose" his cool as he moves on to be a model citizen because "loosing" your cool can be a characteristic that may cost him to "loose" out on life. Maybe all those extra "o's" is a Cooper thing.

Quite honestly the best thing you can do is stop posting. You have no moral leg to stand on and are making matters worse by continually responding. Let this thread die. Please.

I will always stand by my morals whether anyone likes them or not. I paid a fee to speak freely and will continue to do so. Like i said if anyone wants to debate this anymore, do it privately. Or find me in public, I love talking to people. Now please talk football. What was the final score? What was your favorite play? What was your least favorite play? How did you like the drive down? Was it cold?

I believe you've killed any interest in people continuing this one. Good luck next season.

Cooper was a class act-they were very nice before and after the game-fans, players and coaches. They have a very good team -pulaski was just better that night.

Pulaski is really a solid team and I will be pulling for them to win state!

I thought it was a great matchup having the last 2 finalist teams that went up against BG in the last 2 years, only wish they could have both played eachother in the finals instead :)

Game was closer than the score reveals but Pulaski is a great team. The scary thing is their QB is a Junior and their best WR is a Sophomore! They can be a force.

Because they got the 'blues'. 5A NKY will be a tad tougher next fall.

You can throw the Blues factor out the window as Pig Skin stated as Cooper will open with the Birds next season so they won't be ducking anyone. Cooper will move up to 6A based singularly on enrollment which they will be at within 1-2 years anyway with the projected growth of Union. Cooper has played a solid 6A schedule over the last 4 years anyway so this will be of minimal change. The team is battle tested with a staff that gets the most out of the players it has.

Coach Borchers obviously is doing something right as there cannot be many schools in the State that have been in existence for only 7 years that have produced (3) District 1st place finishes, (2) Regional titles, (1) Runner-up Sectional, (1) Sectional title, and (1) State Runner-up title. There are teams in the State that have been in existence for 25 years that may not have accomplished this.

It may or may not have been said earlier but Cooper has nothing to be ashamed of as there is probably no one in this State out side of the Cooper circle that thought they would accomplish what they did in 2014. Predicted to finish 3-4 in the district and they tie for 1st and predicted to lose every playoff game and they go out and win 3 games, this team far exceeded expectations and this poster couldn't be more proud.

With nearly the entire 2-deep roster back next year they will more than hold their own in 6A next year by doing what they've always done and that is compete with no superstars, just good old fashioned hard work.

Congrats Jags on a great season!!
