DeSales has an alumnus who pays for charter busses for ALL games.

 

Trinity and St Xavier use charter busses for road trips outside Jefferson County. They use school busses for local games, playoff or regular season.

Not quite...Team has traveled in Charters for yrs until this past yr they went to ole yeller for local games and took the charters only for 1hr plus drives.

 

Sorta like some of the other fans...We take the "Short Bus" for local and short trips and if we need a little comfort we take the Orange Crush....:thumb:

When my son played (at Somerset) he said he preferred school bus over charter bus.

 

Reason was that they always took two school buses vs. one charter bus. On the school bus each player had a double seat to themselves and room to stretch out and relax. On a single charter bus they were packed in pretty tight shoulder to shoulder and it just wasn't as comfortable.

 

I know a few years the team captains requested school buses only be used and they were...this years team (0-10) took charter buses to at least two games maybe three.

I know when I played (Ashland) if we always took chartered buses for trips to Montgomery County and Lexington. The boosters club always took great care of the football teams' date=' and wanted them to travel in style.[/quote']

 

Didn't Ashland have its own charter bus back in the day? I'm not sure how much it was used or which sports used it. But I vaugley remember the basketball team coming back from the state championship game in a Maroon and silver but with Ashland Tomcats painted on the side.

Boss, name one game this yr that Highlands took any charters under 1 hr let alone 9 mi

Maybe in the past but this yr the Birds have been rolling strictly in Yellow ducks unless of course it exceeded the 1 hr limit

I remember a few years ago the PhD coach at a certain school decided that he wanted to have a playoff feel for a regular season game at Trinity so he packed his team in charter buses for the aprox. 5 mile trip. I think Trinity won by 30+ that night.

I'm gettin paid. I know it's been yellow bus on the close games. I don't like it. It's not who we are. We need to get the charters back for all games regardless of location.
