Yes, Belfry was the 3A runner up the prior year in 1979 and Leslie County was the other semifinalist.

 

We were 3A from the early 70's up through the 98 season. Then we went back to 3A when KY went to 6 classes.

 

I also seem to remember there being fires in EKY during playoff season that year.

Mike Whittaker was the QB on those Leslie Co teams and they threw the ball all over the field. He was later the coach at Leslie County during the Tim Couch era

If you have a charter bus company locally, the cost really isn't much different. At least that's what I've heard. Could be wrong.

Bell County has taken charters before. But when they went to Louisville Central this season took the Yellow Dogs. Biggest reason taken charters is coaches have to drive buses.

You for got to mention those modes of transportation are only used for trips of less than an hour. For longer trips, Highlands borrows the space shuttle and has stretch limos (one per player and coach) waiting at the landing site to finish off the journey.

Not quite...Team has traveled in Charters for yrs until this past yr they went to ole yeller for local games and took the charters only for 1hr plus drives.

 

Sorta like some of the other fans...We take the "Short Bus" for local and short trips and if we need a little comfort we take the Orange Crush....:thumb:

Like a rockstar. Last trip had Sweeperboy, Tedfromvillahills, Thunderbirds, FTTS, myself and Woody along for the trip to Bowling Green. If the Birds can pull out the win this week, another trip to Bowling Green is in order.
