Yeah, those rumors are getting louder on the Boyle County end as well.

Why would he come over and become an assistant coach and take less money vs. stay as a head coach, built his own identity/ empire and make the head coach stipend pay?

Boyle Co schools must have some money if they are willing to pay an assistant a lot more than what a Mercer Co school pays the head coach. Just saying... But sure why not jump back in where winning is a tradition.

I was told that the former Lincoln County head coach became an assistant at Boyle County prior to this season and makes more money as an assistant at Boyle than as a head coach at Lincoln. I don't know if that is true or not but that was the talk of the town. That being said I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing is true with Pardue. There is no way I will ever truly know that but that is what people say.

This would not be a shock. I wouldnt be surprised to see a couple area schools have changes in coaches, especially if Pardue moves. Could be another crazy winter.

What's not going to happen? Pardue to Boyle County?

There is always a way to "make it happen". Just because the asst. coaching stipend @ Boyle might not be as much as the head coaching stipend @ Mercer Co. doesn't mean in the long run that Coach P. couldn't make more $$$ @ Boyle. Throw in some other supplemental duties that take little to no time or effort to do & that could quickly be erased & its totally legal to do. Even in districts where there is a cap on coaches pay, you can utilize other supplemental positions to basically boost their pay.

 

I haven't heard much about this proposed move, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he did do it & I don't think that in the long run it hurts his chances @ taking a head coaching job in the future.

Some school systems have hard set amounts they pay coaches, some pay based on years of "paid" experience. The set amounts are a little higher than the first year paid rate but they quickly can pass up the ones who are stuck at a set limit.

That makes sense. I thought it was strange to hear that an assistant at School A makes more than a head coach at School B.
