BaseballIsLife Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Hanley Ramirez is heading to Boston to finalize deal with Red Sox in 5-year, $90 million range. (via @FOXSports).
nWo Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Sounds like Panda is going there as well. Pablo Sandoval agrees to deal with Red Sox. 5 years close to $100 million. CBS Sports just announced.
2 Humped Camel Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Is Seager going to get the nod in LA this season now that Hanley is gone?
AverageJoesGym Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I'm not too happy with the Sandoval deal. I just don't trust him to hold up physically. With these two the Red Sox offense just got a whole lot better. I wonder if this means that the Red Sox will try to trade for Hamels? This seemingly makes Bogaerts and Middlebrooks expendable unless the plan on playing Hanley in the outfield.

Hamels, Lee, Cain, etc.
Capernicus41 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Well they definitely need pitching so I could see Bogaerts and Middlebrooks in a deal. Hamels, Lee, Cain, etc. And with that now if your the Reds... Walt has to give a call and see what their interest is in some of the starters.
BaseballIsLife Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 And with that now if your the Reds... Walt has to give a call and see what their interest is in some of the starters. If I were the Reds, I would call the Red Sox right now and ask what they would want for Bogaerts.

Capernicus41 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 If I were the Reds, I would call the Red Sox right now and ask what they would want for Bogaerts. Agree. But, it looks like the Sox may be projecting Hanley in LF though so Bogaerts is probably off the table.
Clyde Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Is Seager going to get the nod in LA this season now that Hanley is gone? Sounds like he is getting ready to sign a huge contract with Seattle.
BaseballIsLife Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 Mariners needs another bat. Could see them talking to the Braves about Upton.
Capernicus41 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Sounds like he is getting ready to sign a huge contract with Seattle. I think he is referring to Kyle's younger brother, Corey, who is a SS prospect with the Dodgers. Big time prospect.

If that is the route that they go with Ramirez then it means that some combination of Cespedes, Victorino, Bradley, Betts and Napoli is available. I think Betts is pretty much considered untouchable though. The Red Sox do have a lot of attractive pieces to trade to get Hamels. If they can make a deal for him and resign Lester they have a shot to get back into the mix next season.
