My favorites come from the 13th Region Boys tournament at Rockcastle County in 2002. Everytime Aaron Cash would get the ball the other teams would start chanting "Daddy's boy...Daddy's boy" and when he'd start putting points on the boards our crowd would start chanting "Cash is money...Cash is money".

 

In that same tournament, the Rockcastle County student section called one Corbin player "Opie Taylor...Opie Taylor" when he got the ball because he had red hair and "Skinhead...Skinhead" when a Clay County player got the ball because he had a shaved head. It may sound corny but it got to the opposing players whom I can't remember their names right off hand though.

Another one that I really liked at the time was two years ago in the 49th District and 13th Regional championship for girls basketball was when Sarah Elliott from Jackson County went to the free throw line the Rockcastle County cheering section would start chanting "UT Reject...UT Reject...UT Reject".

 

I thought that was hilarious as can be but in retrospect, I'm glad she chose UK.

After a lot of years of listening to crowds, this year attributed at a district may have been the best ever told or re-told. North Oldham had recently had its coach suspended for ALLEGED interaction with a minor female student at the school. When North Oldham came out to warm up, Oldham's fans began to chant "where's your coach", "where's your coach", "where's your coach". At first, the North Oldham students had no response. Then when the cheer started again, the North Oldham kids began chanting "with your daughters", "with your daughters".....

 

Talk about cutting to the quick........

CovCath was mocking NewCath for a much smaller student section and chanted" Where is your student section" NewCath responded "Fighting Crime, Fighting Crime"

The Clay County player would have probably been Angelo Smith. He took some good ones from fans, but he normally hit big shots to make them think again. (Cawood for example.) Trey Bowling also had to take some heat for being so small. I always liked it when a Christian or Catholic school would chant God's on our side.

Last year when Ludlow and Holy Cross were playing each other in the All A, Dane Lantry kept making shots so Holy Cross chanted "you can't stop him." Ludlow replied with "He's from Ludlow." That one was pretty clever.

he went there through freshman year... If he wasn't good friends with most of the kids there still they could have came back with "Trai-tor, Trai-tor" but probably didn't because he still is good friends with the Ludlow folk to my knowledge... maybe one of our local BGP Panthers could confirm that for ya...

While I was a student at Morehead State, Austin Peay was visiting and their star player was named Fly Williams. Their cheering section chanted, " The Fly is open-Let's Go Peay!!!";)

That was most likely the idea behind it... nevertheless... the chant for the game was "R-O-P-E"
