I also think if you go back farther that you'll find they had some pretty successful teams. I do think that a semi appearance is the best we've done under The current state championship format.

How big is Ballard's offensive and defensive line? I know Dixie's is big and athletic on both sides. If Ballard's D-line isn't big enough, then it will be a long night for their team. However, if they are big enough, then this game comes down to special teams and TOs.

So I'm dating a young lady who graduated from Ballard... She said she is pulling for her alma mater, despite the fact that I have kin playing for Dixie, My roommate's brother plays for Dixie, and was coached by their HC.

 

I really hope Dixie wins so I can rub it in her face a little bit.

Yes, I believe there was an 11-1 Dixie team back before there was a state championship playoff system. In the 80s, there was at "at large" state championship, and the winner of that would play the Louisville champ for the overall state championship. Nonetheless, this has been a great year for Dixie.
