Dixie and Ballard are no strangers. We've faced each other before and it's always been a great football game. I expect nothing less this friday night.

Dixie Highway gonna be hoppin Friday night! Two semi finals within 3 miles of each other.

So I'm dating a young lady who graduated from Ballard... She said she is pulling for her alma mater, despite the fact that I have kin playing for Dixie, My roommate's brother plays for Dixie, and was coached by their HC.

 

I really hope Dixie wins so I can rub it in her face a little bit.

Pulling for Dixie in this one. Have a family that we have gotten to know through fastpitch softball and their son plays for Dixie.

Not sure if any of them are on BGP or not but if they are. P-Man is pulling for ya Friday night #17!!!!!

Nope. This is the best team in terms of advancement in Dixie's history.

 

Class of 81 and 85 both also won the regional championship. Both lost the next game. A banged up and injured 81 team lost to eventual state champs and nationally ranked Henry Clay who was the first non Louisville school to win state in the big school division. With a win vs Ballard this years Dixie team will have gone further. This Dixie team is very good. I see some similarities in talent. Both teams had similar records with their only regular season loss to Cov Cath. Class of 81 had Pike who played later at Georgia Tech and Derry who went on to play fullback at Uk plus three all staters in Shockey, Popp, and Lemker who also played at San Diego State.

Actually it was 1981 but class of 82.

From the little bit of hudl game film I've seen Ballard runs some wing t, single wing, and pro with trips to the wide side. They like to blitz on defense and are very athletic.

 

Coach Jackson and Coach Brossart will have their teams ready for an epic game. Execution and limiting the opponent to the big play will be the difference in this one. It's the state semis...both teams made it here for a reason. Looking forward to a very good battle and in my book this is a pick'em!

Is Coach Jackson the black coach from Highlands? Also I believe Dixie has a guy named Eichman over there as D Coorid that coached at Highlands and last weekend another former Highlands coach was in the booth helping with the Defensive back schemes...

^Kevin Eichman has done a great job at Dixie Heights in the role of Defensive Coordinator. Not sure of where he coached prior or the answer to the other questions. If another former Highlands coach was in the booth helping with schemes thanks to them. :thumb:

For the record before I get blown up here saying Dixie is winning just because all of these guys are former Highlands coaches I want to be clear, I know them all and I am just pointing out that these three can flat out coach and Dixie is lucky to have them.:thumb:
