Is this result just another case of a weak schedule? ie Johnson Central...

All those wins add up to nothing every yr imo...

Not degrading or talking down to the kids but you are not going to win the big ones playing the little ones

A result of Dixie being the better team in every phase...

I didn't see the play. NKYsports announcers said it was a late hit. True?

Not a late hit. He released the ball and the defender hit him immediately. It was a bang-bang play. The defender drove him into the ground with all his weight.

Dixie is very good. They are very big up front with 2 D1 lineman and a qb that should have offers from option schools. The RB's run hard. The defense is very sound. I believe Ballard will have more athleticism, but may not have the size to match Dixie. In the title game, they would play one of two teams that have been there before in Trinity and Meade. It is not impossible, but it will be a tough row to hoe. Anthing can happen when you get to the title game, but have to play and win this week 1st. Ballard will easily be the best team Dixie has played in the playoffs. 3 losses to only X, Male and Manual.

Dixie had a couple of passing plays that would have resulted in long TDs, but they just missed.

Overall, Moore did not throw the ball very well tonight. Mostly because SK got really good penetration into the backfield on said passing situations.

I thought Dixie could have stayed with Luke running it a little more. He was gaining good yards and SK really seemed to have no answer for it. I think if Dixie stayed with that a little more than they did it could have opened some good counter play opportunities.

I would love to see Dixie incorporate a fake handoff to Luke, and then dump the pass over the line and get him the ball in space. Based on what I've seen he has great hands and is a dynamo in space.

Hats off to the Colonels. SK had opportunities in the first half but the combination of a very good defense and mistakes killed any hopes of scoring. The Colonel defense made it a rough evening. DH is physical and athletic and their QB is pretty good as well. I'll be backing them for the next two games.

No. Machlitt around Olmstead. Hit on left side. Landed on right shoulder.

That wasn't the hit that injured his shoulder. The hit was by #23.

The post game thread going over 20 pages too?

Congrats to the Colonels on the W. They dominated the line on both sides of the ball. The defense played very well as they were able to plug the holes and get pressure on Racke. Johnson's hit on Powell was one of the biggest hits I've seen at the high school level in a while. For comparison sakes, think of Clowney versus Michigan a couple years ago.

Yup. Caple got there right as the ball was released and delivered a big blow. Felt for Racke as he was sitting on the bench letting out the emotion when he was told he was done...

Like Bill Goldberg's ''spear''.

Same here. He was sitting on the bench directly in front of us with his head down. When a coach came over, he just leaned on him and let the emotions go. The only good thing about the situation is the kid still has 2 years left. He's going to be a good one.

Plays like that are why teams don't make the mistake of 1 on 1 run blocking Johnson. Simply sidestep the block and plant a Powell garden. Wanted to hear "answer the phone"

Once again good luck to Dixie even though you have horrible fans!

Wow

you were doing good when you were eating your crow and then it went south fast. Some things never change. Must be a horrible night for you. You said SK would win and Cooper would lose. Must be tough to rip in every team that are bringing home regional trophy a tonight.

Congrats to Dixie. Better team won tonight. This is one SK fan that will be there next Friday to cheer Dixie on. I would love for a NKY to win that 6A.

Olmstead was blocking DH #24 on that play.. Sandlin was blocking # 61 get your fact's right before you speak. It was # 23 on a blitz between the two . no running back in the back field to block... good try again..... Go win it all Dixie .
