Holmes 82 Scott County 75 (Scrimmage)

Featured Replies

Johnson wasn't listed on the stat sheet/roster as even being there.

Has he been ruled eligible yet? He is the kid from Mad Cen, right?

Yes. That's him.

I can't remember if he is eligible or not. I was thinking everyone at Scott County was eligible. At this point I am losing track of who is eligible and who isn't. :lol2:

Who are the Holmes bigs? Actually Walter can you give me a roster with "legit" sizes of the Dogs?

Johnson, at this point, is not eligible. From what I hear he's not close to being eligible. Hope this young man gets on the right track. Hines Jones is a great piece but probably not a first or second option. Therefore, he will probably struggle against athletic teams. It makes a big difference with no Trent Gilbert running the show. He is a solid player whom a team cannot ignore.

Where Does Hamilton fit in with Scott Co? He played in Louisville last year (St Francis).

So James played the entire game?

Rest of team was 0/10 from 3.

He was out for about 30 seconds..

Whatever happened to Raekwon Long?

I thought that he was a 7 footer for Scott Co who was a Sophomore in the 2013-2014 season.

He left the program after least season,,,went back to N. Carolina

Should there have been?

In a scrimmage, probably not.

Coach L. works the sidelines super aggressively. He is very vocal with his players and the refs. Coach Hicks goes about his craft the same way. Two hard chargers.

I was curious how the two styles meshed.

Scott Co. has an 8th grader on their roster named Bryce Long. I wonder if he's any relation to Raekwon?

Holmes' rotation will likely look like this throughout the season, regardless of opponent:

6'0 Sr James Bolden

5'11 Jr Markel McClendon

6'2 Jr Marcus Mullins

6'4 Sr Rod Avery

6'5 Soph Jaiden Greene

(I assume that was the starting lineup last night...not sure if Greene or Moore started as 5th starter)

Bench:

6'4 Jr Brandon Moore

6'2 Jr Andrew Arnold

6'1 Sr Jason Covington

5'11 Jr Ian Brolley

Those 4 off the bench will see around 8-12 minutes per game.

6'0 Freshman Raavai Commodore didn't play last night but that could have been due to a nagging ankle injury. I know Coach L really likes him. Best freshman in NKY according to a a couple varsity coaches I've talked to who have seen that class a lot.

Nice showing for Holmes, sounds like,

How did Jenkins look for Scott County?

Never mind, the next post pretty much tells me.

Any major difference noticed with Coach L coaching as opposed to Coach Booher. I know both are outstanding coaches but wondered how the style might change if any with Coach L this year and years to come.

Both coaches want to press and get out and run.

Coach Booher liked the high ball screen on offense for Bolden, whereas Coach L prefers the motion and ball movement to get shooters open. They still run similar sets, but there are a few changes.
