Holmes 82 Scott County 75 (Scrimmage)

Any major difference noticed with Coach L coaching as opposed to Coach Booher. I know both are outstanding coaches but wondered how the style might change if any with Coach L this year and years to come.

Good question.

Scott Co. has an 8th grader on their roster named Bryce Long. I wonder if he's any relation to Raekwon?

No they are not related at all

Holmes' rotation will likely look like this throughout the season, regardless of opponent:

6'0 Sr James Bolden

5'11 Jr Markel McClendon

6'2 Jr Marcus Mullins

6'4 Sr Rod Avery

6'5 Soph Jaiden Greene

(I assume that was the starting lineup last night...not sure if Greene or Moore started as 5th starter)

Bench:

6'4 Jr Brandon Moore

6'2 Jr Andrew Arnold

6'1 Sr Jason Covington

5'11 Jr Ian Brolley

Those 4 off the bench will see around 8-12 minutes per game.

6'0 Freshman Raavai Commodore didn't play last night but that could have been due to a nagging ankle injury. I know Coach L really likes him. Best freshman in NKY according to a a couple varsity coaches I've talked to who have seen that class a lot.

Without giving away any confidences, I've been told that the Holmes starting lineup has not been 100% finalized yet (although a couple of spots obviously are settled).

I would assume Bolden, McClendon, Mullins, and Avery will start next weekend with the 5th spot being up for grabs.

Coach L has a lot of options.

He can go big and start Moore/Greene or go with a quick lineup of shooters/ball handlers and start Brolley.

Arnold was one of the best jv players in the region last year so he is an option as well.

As they say, these are good problems to have. By the way -- and I apologize for a brief thread diversion -- according to one of the Holmes players, Rob Tubbs is attending Purcell Marian. Confirm?

Not sure where he went but do know he went back to Ohio.

PM would make sense...they have a lot of young talent in that program right now.
