Hard to argue against the job coach king did at Iroquois. While the job Chad has done this year has been great also they were both deserving.

The awards are that association's awards, so yes only members should win the award.

 

As to the 2-8 coach winning, that might be because the coaches in that district are blowhards and won't vote for their rival or some coach they don't like, so they vote their buddy. Basically, they get what they deserve because they are the ones voting for the award.

Congrats to Coach Wirth, all of the other coaches and the players. This is a reflection on both the organization as well as the Head Coach.

I don't disagree with you and I know that I am partial to Cooper but the one argument I will make for Cooper is they only returned 3 starters total on both sides of the ball and have made a great run led by TCA. South Oldham had a little more returning than Cooper and they still "technically" tied for District Champs. Maybe they took into account last year and what had to be replaced. I think that is why the nod for Borchers, but I can definitely see the argument for Kuriger from SO as player of the year!

Each district in the state choices a "Player of the Year" and a "Coach of the Year". The KFCA also gives awards for milestone wins for coaches, 100 wins, 200 wins, ect.

Just a guess, and no doubt he is one helluva coach.

 

But, sometimes it's about what you do with what you have. Travis Gay took an Adair County team to a 9-3 record and the schools first ever playoff win in history.

 

Yes, so their schedule gets ripped...but, on the flip side of that...it's the same schedule (practically) that they have played all throughout these years. Nobody was saying anything about their schedule then.

 

For the record, I'd be highly shocked if Brandon doesn't win the 3A Coach of the Year award.
