That's an excellent question, and we share some of the same thoughts. I wondered if their plans are for him to play DB

I'm just glad they found out what number he was wearing.

The kid had a great night, congrats to him. Of course some highlands fans on here will never give credit to anyone outside their program. So they held him on all but two carries, well those two carries count. I've always said that about five people that post on here would run a close race for the title of the coach Matney of bluegrass preps, any guess what school they root for?

Happy for him, really, but Nick Kendall scored four times and gets to play again next week. No idea what kind of yardage he had, but his 24 points trump Baker's 12. It's the only measuring stick that matters in November and December.

So a comparison of players is based on the teams success? Ok. That makes perfect sense. Maybe the thread is to compare the caliber of backs that have had big games against Highlands. We all know Highlands won, but I bet college coaches are more interested in Bakers 12 points than Kendall's 24.

Kid is a baller no doubt!!!! And from I saw tonight ultra competive and willing to play defense as well (you don't see that a lot these days) I'm a fan! Just saying outside of 2 runs he was contained.

I think about 80 or so...but that's like telling a baseball player who went 3-4 with 2 homeruns, "well, if you take away his 2 home runs, how well did he do"...you cannot take them away.

 

That said, overall I thought the HHS D did a good job on him for the most part.

Guru - can we edit this thread to 230+ or call the Ashland newspaper and tell them they have the wrong stats?

When I posted it, the information at hand was based off the radio broadcast. They usually keep pretty good stats, which is why I posted it without having official stats. I'm open to editing it, I doubt it would change much though.

They did in a sense. Baker isn't a bruiser, short yardage back though. He doesn't get his numbers by running up the gut for 4-5 yards every play. He gets his yards by finding the hole and forcing you to catch him. In that aspect Highlands didn't do a good job of containing him. No disrespect to Highlands though, the kid runs a 4.3 40 and has great vision, if the online can open a seam for him he's gone, I don't care who he's playing.

Every time he touched the ball I held my breath. Lot of fun watching a back like that, except when he's going against your team.
