I knew this was a bad idea. Some people can't recognise talent if it smacked them.right across the face. The proverbial response is that "well his team didn't win." Your right, you won. Has nothing to to do with the question asked though.

 

Oh I'm sure they recognize his talent, and they have admitted that. The problem is some think that if you're not praising Highlands with your post that you're trying to be negative, or anti Highlands. I just don't get it.

Baker had 2 good runs. That was about it. One was 99. The other was about 70. He gained about 80 more yards on his other 30 carries. Outside of those 2 carries, he didn't do anything.

He did post it in the thread, and the big boss told hm to start a thread about it. Don't understand why Highlands fans are offended by the question or the thread. Your team won, and more than likely win another state championship? Isn't that enough to keep you from being offended?

 

This HHS fan is not offended by the question at all. The kid is a stud. I actually thought HHS did a pretty good job on him tonight but he had 250 yards - just shows how good he is. Besides the two long runs, HHS contained him well.

When was the last time highlands gave up runs like those? I don't remember many.

Eddie Smith from Ryle in 1995 had over 300 yards and Ryle won.

Central had 716 in that game...had three guys with over 160

 

Porter-Bunton 13 - 218

Green 8 - 186

Walker 6 - 169

 

Highlands is incredible on O...not so much on D.

Completely agree with you.. Minus a couple of breakout runs Highlands did a great job with him. It just shows how talented the kid is that he can put up 250+ yards of from what people consider containing him.

Holmes beat them that year, too. Highlands lost in the finals to BG after losing the starting QB against Holmes in the playoffs, IIRC.

You are right and there is a reason for this and I could answer this but it would be aiding the enemy...and Highlands fans don't do that.:thumb:

I guess I contained Cornell Burbage in a game back in 82. Outside the 67 yard and 73 yards TD passes he caught against me he only had 2 catches totaling 10 yards the rest of the night against me. :lol2:
