St X defense getting off the field on 3rd down. Trinity had no 3rd down conversions against Male until 2 minutes left in the first half and Male up 14-0. 2 TDs at the end of the 1st half and they even made a 3 rd down and 23 on a scramble by Ryan Young.

 

Trinity still had 11 penalties against Male but if they make first downs and overcome the negative plays then St X is in for a long night. Trinity had 30 plays of 0 yards or negative yards against Male plus the 11 penalties. They overcame them on third down and led by 10 points with 4 minutes left.

 

As to "doesn't Trinity always win the playoff game" ? in 1978 and 1984 Trinity won the regular season and St X won the playoff game. In 2005,2007, and 2008 Trinity won the playoff game after losing the regular season. Blake Roshkowski and Larry Harper were in first grade in 2005 so players today don't care what happened years ago, only us old geezers do.

Great point. I feel that has been an achilles heel for the St. X defense the last few years, but something that has been addressed this year by Coach Bruner and staff.

In the first matchup, X benefited heavily from T mistakes, which ultimately lead to an X victory. With everything being equal, X will have to play an exceptional game to beat the No. 1 ranked Rocks. X cannot hurt themselves on offense such as turnovers, penalties, and three and outs. St. X has some injuries at the running back position, but the depth they have created can help them overcome those injuries. The X defense has been tough all season and if they continue with their great play and creating turnovers good things could be instore for the Tigers tonight!

Its Gameday!! Your score seems to say T only gets 4 field goals. I don't believe X can keep T out of the end zone the way they are playing. I like the way T played the second half vs Male and if they play like that I like the Rocks chances. Can't wait for game time. Go Rocks!!
