I have a feeling Boyle County wins this game this time around. I don't have anything to base it on other than a feeling. There is a player or two who missed the first game that should make a difference defensively and I feel better about the offense as a whole at this point than I did when these teams met the first time. I also expect Hinkle and Leigh to be difference makers on offense as well. Leigh has really come on late in the season.

I'm thinking 21-19 Boyle County. Something like that.

Going against history I see.

Weather could be a factor to drive the scoring into that range. Wet or extreme cold probably works against the Knights. They were not good mudders at Taylor County earlier this season. And the scoring seems to always be lower in this rivalry.

With all the Fayette public and private schools bowing down last weekend, Lex Catholic vs Boyle County game will be packed again. If you reside locally and want to come out and watch 2 great programs go at it, come by Lex Catholic HS and watch a great game. Good luck to both teams.

Beach Bumm, Boyle has been dominating every team they played since there loss to Catholic, that's why I said they have been playing good football. So what's so LAME about that. And like I said the rebels will win by 2tds. Coach Smith made the team watch Catholic celebrate there win last time in the rain, these kids will be ready and hungry, and will dominate Catholic this time.

No judgement here. I hope you're right!

Boyle has outscored their opponents 221 to 54 since their loss to Catholic, I would say half of the 54 was against the JV/Freshman team.

If you look at who they have played since that's what the scores should have looked like.

Hmm.. So you're saying Boyle played a weaker schedule..

Lex Cath -

Win 13-8 over Taylor Co.

Win 43-18 over Marion Co.

Win 56-0 over Boone Co.

Win 48-6 over Clay Co.

Win 43-20 over Rockcastle Co.

Boyle :

Win 38-12 over Marion Co.

Win 51-0 over Mercer Co.

Win 43-7 over Madison Southern

Win 45-22 over Russell Co.

Win 44-13 over Knox Central

How has Catholic's schedule better than Boyle's?

What's lame about it? Sure Boyle Co has been dominating everyone they have played after Lex Cath. So your saying that Lex Catholic has not? You base your pick on that? Check out the scores that Lex Cath has put up since they played Boyle Co. Dominating as well. And as far as celebrating after they defeated Boyle Co, sure why not celebrate? They just beat their district rival, won district. So your saying if Boyle Co would have won that game, Rebels would have just walks off and into their bus? C'mon dude, of course they would have celebrated. Not to mention I think this was said before. A loved counselor at the school passed away 2 days prior to that game. She has a daughter that attends Lex Cath, so they decided that game ( win or lose ) that evening to wear and pass out yellow flowers, which was her favorite. And so happened that they won, the student body rush the field and CARRIED the daughter on their shoulders as a CELEBRATION of life. So if you think that they were rubbing it on the Rebels face, go ahead and think that. That game was important, but the life celebrated was more in their thoughts. Good luck KNIGHTS and REBELS.

How has Catholic's schedule better than Boyle's?

Dude! No one has played better than the other one OK. From your analysis above, looks like both teams have been dominant. Add all those points and it's pretty close. They played the same schedule down the stretch and that is why I don't get what " Special Agent33 " is talking about advantage Boyle Co because they have been murdering everyone since the lost to Lex Cath. And to add, I am not a Lex Catholic fan, I follow the program cause I reside near the school and when I get a chance, I catch a ballgame. I know the history of both great program, I would like to see them both at WKU, but that's not possible. It's a great rivalry, with the exception of Trinity vs Saint X, its the best in the state. I just hate reading " horse dung " excuses why I team should win or loose.

So you predicted Boyle County to blow out Knox Central? Just curious.

Boyle has outscored their opponents 221 to 54 since their loss to Catholic, I would say half of the 54 was against the JV/Freshman team.

And Lex Catholic have outscored the opponents after beating Boyle Co. 203-52 and those 52 were scored against freshman and JV squad. What's your point bro? Seems pretty close or even to me and that is why I don't get your analogy on advantage Boyle Co cause they have been murdering everyone since Lex Cath. May I also add and food for thought, Lex Cath last 2 games vs Clay Co and Rockcastle Co.... No varsity players played in the start of 3rd quarter on. Freshman and JV got their feet wet and it was awesome to see them experience the playoff atmosphere.

I agree with you that "the roll" BC has been on is of little difference than the one Lex Cath is on. If there is one game that LC didn't "dominate" in like fashion it was vs Taylor County but weather I'm certain played into that a lot.

I think until Boyle beats the Knights in the playoffs then LC is the favorite.

I will say this.

Since there is long standing pattern of the regular season winner being the same in the playoffs, How big was it last year that Mercer upset the Rebels since Boyle won the regular season meeting last year?

Wow. Nothing like a rivalry game to bring out the passion. Both teams have been dominant since playing each other. No real worries because the competition was expected to lose those games. I can't wait to see what new wrinkles each team shows this Friday. My only worry is with both teams being front runners for over a month now who can respond after a little adversity.

Great atmosphere, great teams, I expect a great game.......
