It has nothing to do with being able to afford them.

Oh " Tough it out " attitude " Quit being a Wuzzy Sally " mentality???? C'mon man, these are 14-18 yrs old kids and only but 20-25 payers play and run around and stay warm. How about the rest of the 50-60 kids that don't see the field? But if that is the approach, then you and Boyle Co players are one tough cookies.

I was at the 2003 Paducah Tillghman game. Had to sit on Tilghman's side and when I saw some of my Boyle buddies in the bathroom after the game I was glad I had the wind to my back.

Just sayin', tried them once and the players were more focused on being able to get near the heaters than on the game. Results were not very good. Have not had heaters since. Every time we see heaters on the opposite sideline there seems to be the same effect with that team...and the route is on.

I understand your statement about kids huddling around the heater instead of focusing on the game, I am for the kids that do not play a lick of down or just in KO or KOR. I can understand if a starter or a player that plays significant amount of downs, and that's why you would need a " Get back coach " to police that. What's Boyle Co record when they see the opposing sidelines with heaters? I guess you got Lex Cath's number then, cause they will have heaters on the side.

I kind of agree with your statement. I can see what Paul Dean is saying but when I played I was not concerned about a heater. I was concerned about the competition in front of me and the other players were the same way. Maybe we just have a different mind set. I'm all for the heaters so that the ones that do not play stay warm. If it's affordable they would be crazy not to not buy them.

Thanks.. Maybe not purchase but rent it out for the evening? Not sure where or what rental place one would go, but worth a shot. If not then let them play on. Hope the ones that do not get significant playing time, bundle up for this evening and next.

Same as they've always been

Right! I can see what Paul Dean is saying though. I could somewhat see it being a distraction but this time of year the kids know what is at stake. The cold weather is just a small obstacle compared to the team they are playing.

One would think that schools like Lexington Catholic and Boyle County would have better visitor bleachers.

The absolute coldest game I ever remember attending.

I remember a Bell co. Game on Log MT that was 8 degrees at kickoff with the wind chill below 0.

But did you attend the Paducah Tilghman game, Jack? Bell County is a close 2nd because I went to both games but the Tilghman game takes the cake.

Had that conversation tonight. Both schools can do better.

It was cold but nowhere close to Paducah Tilghman. The only game that I can remember that was close was the UK game against a freshman running back named Hershel Walker.

They were upgraded when the field was redone 3 years ago.

Seriously.

They are low but that is the problem with being land locked. Thats private property right behind them. And the neighbors complain enough as it is. Putting stands in their backyard would definitely not go over well.
