I agree with you that "the roll" BC has been on is of little difference than the one Lex Cath is on. If there is one game that LC didn't "dominate" in like fashion it was vs Taylor County but weather I'm certain played into that a lot.

That is why I have no idea with the analogy of because one has been dominating the rest of the schedule, therefore they are 2 TD favorite. I don't get it bro. And as far as the statement about whoever the winner is during the regular season, determines the winning of the playoff game, I do not have the knowledge of that answer. I can only go back a few years when Kyle Bolin was on the team where Lex Cath both won the regular and the playoff game thus pushing Lex Catholic to play Highlands 3 straight years. Wait I get it now Hatz. I apologize. Yeah it all shocked everyone that Mercer Co ended Boyle Co season. If I'm not mistaken, Lex Catholic had the mindset prepared that they will be traveling to Boyle Co on that one particular Friday night. Let me just say this, with the new alignment, Lex Cath and Boyle Co will meet up numerous more times, in the regular and playoff season. Love watching these 2 programs. Class act!

Going to be a good one! Hate that it's going to be so cold this Friday as my hands will be in my pockets and not getting BGP updates. I'm going to guess that BC turns the outcome around in this one.

Neither team played a tough schedule second part of season and both took care of buisness as expected, no advantage to either team. I felt LC dominated the first match up more than the score showed and they should be favored to win (even have home field advantage). The one factor that could go in Boyle CO's way is if the weather is very cold; it could make it tougher for LC with the passing game whick I feel is a big advantage they have over BC. LC showed they are the better team until BC beats them and I do not think that will happen this year.

Actually I go further back between these two.

 

In '98, '99 and '00, the regular season winner won the playoff rematch.

 

The same was true in '07, '08, '09, '10, '11, '12 as well. Hence the pattern. :lol2:

 

Ironically, in '99 and '00 the only losses the Knights incurred each year was to the Rebels.

 

Last year Boyle proved they can beat LC (in the regular season), but they haven't done so in the playoffs since 2010.

I see you guys don't need me to stir the pot I've really enjoyed reading this thread, I do believe Boyle changes the history of this rivalry Friday night with it being whoever wins the regular game wins the playoff game, and I really believe the difference being that this being Chucks first year back that the players didn't buy into his system until they lost to LC at midseason before the loss Boyle wasn't a very good football team, but after I have seen improvement every game I see Boyle now as a Chuck Smith product not a Larry French product they have improved in every facet of the game and IMO playing their best football of the season weather it's enough to beat LC Friday night or not won't be known till the final second ticks off the clock, but IMO I think Boyle will win.

What's lame about it? Sure Boyle Co has been dominating everyone they have played after Lex Cath. So your saying that Lex Catholic has not? You base your pick on that? Check out the scores that Lex Cath has put up since they played Boyle Co. Dominating as well. And as far as celebrating after they defeated Boyle Co, sure why not celebrate? They just beat their district rival, won district. So your saying if Boyle Co would have won that game, Rebels would have just walks off and into their bus? C'mon dude, of course they would have celebrated. Not to mention I think this was said before. A loved counselor at the school passed away 2 days prior to that game. She has a daughter that attends Lex Cath, so they decided that game ( win or lose ) that evening to wear and pass out yellow flowers, which was her favorite. And so happened that they won, the student body rush the field and CARRIED the daughter on their shoulders as a CELEBRATION of life. So if you think that they were rubbing it on the Rebels face, go ahead and think that. That game was important, but the life celebrated was more in their thoughts. Good luck KNIGHTS and REBELS.

I think it was a good move for Smith to have his team observe the LC celebration. He can then remind them how they felt that night and also how it feels from the other side of the celebration. Doesn't reflect any at all on LC, they should have celebrated. Any team would in winning a big district game.

I agree! Good move to use as motivation for the kids as to what they need to do to achieve their goal. No complaints as to Lex Cath's celebration here.

I have read and heard from Boyle fans that they have improved in all three phases of the game. That may be true. So does this mean that you are now satisfied with the offense? Because after the Catholic loss I thought you guys let the OC have it by getting on his play calling and scheme. I just hope that he is not the easy way out if you fall short because you guys at the moment are praising the entire team.

As long as the game is officiated evenly this time around and if LC wins you'll hear no excuses from me. On a side note I've never always liked Mason's play calling even during the two state title years.

Jack do you really think the refs were one sided. I have seen that game so many times and they missed calls on both sides. And the penalty calls and yardage was almost identical.

Post # 19, C'mon man really? You would make your team watch other team celebrate? IN THE RAIN? Where you could go in, dry off, change of clothes, but yet make the team watch as they jump up and down, carry a female student on their shoulder, walked in the end zone as a team with yellow flowers and pray. You would make your team to do that? If so why? Motivation? Did you think LC rubbed it in BC face?
