Bryan Station 2014/2015

How does that change the landscape of the 11th?

Ugh, that's tough. Not eligible until after Christmas. Is he able to practice is the question I have. I still think the 11th is wide open even with Carson at Bryan Station.

The bylaw reads that ineligible means whole shebang.

Okay. I was wondering if it makes a difference if he isn't ineligible because of transferring.

If you are ineligible you cant participate in any organized team practice. One loophole is that before the actual tryout date begins & after the season ends, you cannot deny any student from attending an open gym if they are a fulltime student @ your school.

My question is why is it @ Christmas? Was he deemed ineligible due to academics & is working to get eligible currently or did he transfer to Station last December & was ruled ineligible for 1 year?

I've heard academics is the reason.

He was at Scott County to begin the school year. He is now at Bryan Station.

I'm guessing Bryan Station Starting 5 would be Cj Walker (1) Andre Davis (2) Tim Dunn (3) Tequan Claitt (4) DeAndre Dishman (5). You have Josh Owsley (2/3) who is a returner, 6'7 big man (Transfer) Ronnie Carson (2/3 & Top 5 player in the state IMO), Mahari Sturgis (2/3), Ralphel Few (1). Now I followed Bryan Station very closely last year & this summer and saw these kids perform. That's why I say on paper they are the best team in the 11th region especially if you include the new addition in Carson.

Bryan Station Schedule before Christmas....

Dec 2, 14 Rowan County away

Dec 5, 14 Paul Laurence Dunbar home

Dec 6, 14 Knox Central

Dec 11, 14 Tates Creek home

Dec 20, 14 Pleasure Ridge Park at Seneca

Dec.26th-30th Republic Bank Classic at Lex Cath

So will Carson play in the Republic Bank Classic? I hear that Boyle County and Bryan Station meet in the first round.

Carson should have stayed where he played last year. He needs the ball in his hands to be effective. Against decent competition, his game was non-existent. I just don't understand a kid that was averaging 20+ a game would transfer (twice) his last year of High School ball.

Agreed. To my knowledge he lives in theBryan Station zone and did so while attending Scott Co. Not sure what address he used while attending SC so who knows. He left EJ and when he did so he wasn't classified as a Senior. He has since gotten enough credits to become a senior but what I'm told is he is missing a few "mainstream" courses. Take from that what you will.

Might signal some issues with the individual. I don't know the kid but know he can score and at Scott Co. would have probably assumed the role that Gilbert played to score. At Bryan Station he may fit in and he may not fit in, who knows. I would think at EJ he would have been the man. Not sure why all the moving and not sure why his senior year but if he was not eligible at Scott Co how can he be eligible at Bryan Station

I guess this is another example of s student transferring to better his education,,LOL,,I believe something went astray in this case..What good is a free ride at the next level when you can^t get out of high school, even after being in three different schools in less than a year

Expect the unexpected. Since Mack graduated, that's what I've come to realize about Bryan Station. I've seen them play up or down to the competition too many times. One of the hardest teams in the area to peg. Lately, they've had a team that could beat anyone on a given night, but at the same time, anyone could beat them on a given night as well.

Did I understand that correctly? You think Carson is a top 5 player in the state? If so, IMO, he is not even the best player on his team. Not in the top 5 of the district or top 10 in the region...and it's not close. Perform? They went 6-9 after Christmas and on summer play? Good luck to you and them.

What team, district, and region are you referring to?
