I've heard he's dressed for practices but IMVHO it's pushing it after ACL surgery.

 

I agree. No way he's 100% right now. I kept hearing he was practicing so I wasn't sure if he was playing yet or not. That should be one of the better games this Friday.

When did this kid tear his ACL? Did he have it repaired?

They are average with him and capable of a win or two in the playoffs with him. I don't think they'd have been a 4 seed with him healthy. 3 seed most likely.

 

Without him they struggle to compete.

I'll tell you how this could happen but probably won't. Holy Cross takes forever to run plays on offense. If they can put together a couple of 8 minutes drives by going for it on 4th down all night they could shorten the game dramatically.

 

Then if WV gets impatient and turns the ball over the situation gets repeated. The only problem is Holy Cross must stop turning the ball over repeatedly and must keep their defense off the field because there is no way the Holy Cross defense can stop WV from scoring.

 

So, in theory, if HC can score twice in the first half and limit WV to maybe 4 possessions maybe it can be a 21-14 game at the half. However, if HC turns it over twice in the first half and WV gets 6 or 7 possessions it could be easily 35-7 at the half and game over.

I agree with sarge. It may be a little closer game than some might expect, like not a running clock.

 

On the tougher schedule, yes Holy Cross played a tougher schedule. But if you never get a win against a tough team on the schedule, or even are competitive, then the tough schedule doesn't prove anything. You mentioned the Holmes scores - WV won by 2 TD's and Holy Cross lost by 2 TD's. I would say that 4 TD spread may be about where the game ends up.

This game was mentioned in another thread - Somerset vs. Shelby Valley. How many people think Somerset can win that one? Has a zero win team ever won a playoff game?

May be a bit of a homer pick on my part, but Nelson County has been playing really well in recent weeks after changing QBs and switching to a ground-and-pound offense, and they get their top RB back this week after doing a nice job of developing a replacement in his absence. If they can avoid turnovers and control the clock, they can beat North Oldham.

Taylor Co. over Knox Central. Coach Hilton has never lost to Knox (25-0) at Bell. I just believe that he will out coach them. Taylor has nothing to lose and Knox has everything to lose. This is a classic. Gotta love an underdog with a chip on their shoulder.
