Thankfully they found it early, so from what everybody tells me this is all very doable.

 

I encourage everyone to get their colonoscopy, and don't put it off. It's really not that bad.

 

When you turn 50, do it.

 

If you have a family history, do it sooner than that.

 

These days since the surgery have been rough, but they're doable as well, and I don't even want to think what it would've been like if I had waited.

 

So don't wait people. It's amazing what modern medicine can do these days to save your life.

I'm still not sure if I'll attend, but I know I'm giving out communion that day at 4pm at Blessed Sacrament, I could bring you communion if you can't find a church.

 

I'll have to check on times at other places, but besides Blessed Sacrament at 4pm, the Cathedral in Covington has Mass at 4:30.

Thanks...you guys rock... I'm happy to say that it does feel like the worst is behind me. Still sore of course but following doctor's orders and keeping focused and positive. Being able to stay connected to BGP while in the hospital has been a major plus.

WHAT? Lol! Sorry I didn't hear you. This past Friday? If so, as I recall it was about dinner time and I was thinking of going to the CCH/ HC game afterwards, but had a couple of things to do first and didn't get around to it.

Since I'm on day 5 in the hospital for colon surgery because my recent colonoscopy showed early stage cancer that needed to be removed, I thought that I ought to let you all know that regretfully so, I will not be able to make the party.

 

At first I hesitated to make any grand announcements because I was pretty nervous and was afraid to cause worry and drama over it. This was my initial approach with most everyone in my life, but little by little I revealed the info, and everyone has been wonderful and supportive. I guess I was thinking that maybe I'd just get it all out of the way and little by little let people know, but through prompting from a couple of my siblings, the plan had changed a bit along the way

 

After a few very rough days after surgery and then feeling stronger, and then getting a urinary tract infection ...ouch... not fun...I'm now on top of that too, and although full recovery will be a long process, I still might be able to go home in a couple of days to basically stay put and chill out.

 

I find out tomorrow if there will be any need for chemo, and obviously I hope not, but gonna do it if I must.

 

When not seeing doctors, nurses, visitors, and the such I've still had a lot of time while sitting around my hospital room to check out BGP, so you didn't really think anything was truly ever gonna stop me from posting ridiculously long posts did ya? Not on your life LOL!!! In fact with the extra time my posts just might be a little longer in some cases.

 

Anyhow, I'm real sorry that I won't be able to attend as I know that you're all gonna have a great time, and I pray that nothing prevents me from anymore get togethers in the future.

 

Have a fantastic time everyone, and I'll be thinking of you all the night of the party. I'll be there in spirit.

I do believe I have officially moved into the "attending" category. Not sure how long I'll be able to stay but I will be able to punish you all with my presence for atleast a short while.
