They can't fire him ($$) and I don't think he has any desire to start over again. Plus he's getting up there in years so I doubt there are many jobs that would come his way. Saying they were arrested is stretching for sensationalism... That's the one with gunshots reported? I believe one was arrested in that incident. Seems to me that there is just no fear of anything happening to the players, I don't understand that.

I don't understand the shock, and I'm not a UC fan at all.
October 27, 201411 yr Don't care if it's just "kids" drinking and getting caught. This many arrests is embarassing. As a student and a huge fan, I'm not amused. Clean it up. If this were UK or UL or any other school I'd be questioning the control and discipline so there is no reason I shouldn't be in this situation.

October 27, 201411 yr When I was younger I liked to find any reason to mock UC. But if the bulk of the problems is drinking I'm not going to get upset over it. College kids drink, college kids go to parties. Every college football team in America could have a player cited every weekend if the police were called to every party. Part of it is kids making bad decisions and part of it is just bad luck. I think the bigger question is when as a society are we going to understand making it illegal for college kids to drink is just a silly law.

October 27, 201411 yr People on here thought this guy was an upgrade to Butch... I actually really like Tommy. I think UC is lucky to have him, to be honest. For once, we may have a coach who isn't just using us for a better gig in a year or two. He's been there done that. I actually put a LOT/MOST/ALMOST ALL of the blame on the athletes. When you sign on to play college athletics and/or pro athletics, you are not only signing away 95% of your free time, but also accepting acknowledgment that there is a huge lens directly on you at all times. You don't get the luxury of being a typical college kid. The expectations are higher. You don't put yourself in positions to screw up. If that means missing out on drinking on a Saturday night? Oh well. Too bad. Tons of guys would love to be in your position. My younger brother played athletics at UC and now plays pro ball. I saw MANY nights where he was home in bed getting ready for practice or a game as opposed to out running around at the bars and parties. Not to say he skipped every single one, but he didn't put himself in situations that could compromise anything and he still doesn't today. You can have fun without doing all of that. It means sacrifice but you can still have fun. If you can't do that, you don't deserve to wear the jersey. Ok I'll hop off my soapbox.
