Yea that's what I meant. I meant 2nd turnover. Don't get me started on the fumble. I wanted to stick that ball right up butt after that bonehead play.

Neither team could claim that the played well today but in the NFL a win is a win. Better to be lucky than good sometimes. This game could have went either way on about 6 different calls and about 10 different plays.

 

As for the Division........I don't think it is bad at all. Maybe the eventual Super Bowl rep is not in the division but they could be. All four teams will be over .500 at the midway point. No other division is anywhere near that.

Now as far as the #1 WR talk. It's AJ end of discussion. Anyone who thinks its anyone else I need to know so when it comes to any football talk I can immediately put them on my ignore list.

As much as Andy drives us all nuts,he only has 4 INT's this season. I have not looked, but it sure seems like he had more than 4 at the mid-way point of his first three seasons. So, this is a much more "controlled" Dalton than years past. He has 4 INT's coming in three games, and the Bengals have not lost any of those three games. So, it can be argued that Andy is not the problem this year.

Iloka looked clumsy, I thought that was a very poor call but I loved it. Steve Smith didn't argue like I expected, so maybe it wasn't a terrible call...but it looked terrible to me.

 

Speaking of Steve Smith, when did he become a senior? Is his son an infant?

Sanu looked very good.

 

Hue Jackson put Andy Dalton at risk several times. The last time it looked like Dalton actually called to the sideline because he was hurt, but he showed no ill effects.

 

Defense played very well. They deserve a lot of credit.

 

Bengals won in spite of themselves, but it's a huge win.

I understand what you're trying to say but you are wrong. Hurt or healthy he is the best on the team by a mile. No other wr would be a #1 WR in most teams in the league.

 

On days that Cueto doesn't pitch does that mean he's not the Reds #1 starter?

The running game has really struggled the past two games. At first glance you see 26 carries and a 4.0 average but Sanu's two runs tallied 27 yards. It would have been terrible if the Smith TD stood but it would have been a lot like the Cincinnati win at Baltimore.

He does it on every deep ball. Interesting that that one drew a flag.

Just getting around to this. Drove straight to Atlanta after the game. My final analysis is very simple get the win and move on. Prettiness does not matter. A few things that helped yesterday. Little stretched the field and actually caught all but one pass. He is a beast in YAC. Don't know if he is dependable, but he is a major upgrade over Tate and Sanz. Dalton played really well, except for the five minutes the "Bad Andy" showed up. Gutsy and really good game winning drive. Hard to believe the Bengals defense only allowed around 300 yards. It seemed like a lot more. 3-5 in the red zone is a great improvement, especially against the #1 team in allowing TD's there. Sanu is much better than I ever hoped he would be.

 

3rd down defense was horrible yesterday. Too many 3rd and longs converted. The running game is non-existent, gotta get much better thee. Gio hasn't been effective up the gut. Really, the 89 yarder against the Panthers is his only really awesome play rushing. After watching Tucker kick yesterday, we need one of those guys. Nugent makes me nervous every kick.

 

The Smith OPI shocked me some. First of all when you are there in about 15 seconds you go "Same ol' Bungles" to "we actually may have gotten a break." After looking at the replay today, I really couldn't tell much at the game, he definitely pushed off, but it is usually 20-80 they call it.

 

They won ugly, but division games almost always are,, especially in the AFC North and NFC West. The outcome is what had to have, now don't lay an egg against Bortles and crew.
