First off, I would like to thank EyeOfTheTiger for sending me a PM and deferring to me, the opportunity to post the prediction thread......very much appreciated. :thumb:

Alright boys and girls, it doesn't get any better than this. The annual regular season finale between the 2 NKY "small school powers" is always looked forward to by fans and players alike. Game time is set for Friday night at 7:00 @ Newport Stadium. As is the case every year....."you can throw out the records", as this game is always a dandy. All one has to do is look back at last years "tilt" on a cool Saturday afternoon in Fort Mitchell to know why it's a "dandy".

Last year the Tigers were GIVEN a 21 pt. lead in the 1st 5 1/2 minutes of the game as the Breds QB, Mac Franzen, fumbled on the Breds 1st, 3rd, & 6th offensive plays. However, Franzen and the boys regrouped and a Jake Smith 52 yd run followed by Tyler Lyons blocked punt and recover for a TD had the Breds down 7 after the 1st stanza. The Beechies would get a Stellto 24 YD FG, but a Franzen to Lyon TD pass and Jack Sutkamp's 1 YD TD with 11 "ticks" on the clock gave the Breds a 4 pt. halftime advantage. NewCath would add a John Caudill 25 YD FG in the 3rd, for the only scoring of the period, to go up 31-24. Tigers tie things up inside 8 minutes to play, but the Breds win it with 00:12.6 left on a Caudill 26 YD FG.

This year the Tigers (7-2) are on a very nice roll, after opening the season with losses to two very solid teams in Cinti. Mt. Healthy & Dixie. Beechwood is coming off a 41-7 victory against Ludlow. While the Breds struggled against it's 1st 4 opponents (Cooper, Campbell Co., Simon Kenton, & Dixie), however, since then the Breds are on a 4-0 march into this one. The Breds, behind Jake Smith 236 yd, 5 TD's, are fresh from their 50-21 victory vs. Holy Cross.

This is one of the best rivalry games in NKY.

This is one of the best rivalry games in NKY.

I'd have to argue one of the best rivalry games in KY, period. These game's are always close, full of emotion, and fun to watch. If someone hasn't seen this rivalry before, I highly advise them to check it out.

I can see Beechwood winning pretty decent in this one.

Shame on you, you NewCath traitor.

Beechwood in a romp IMO. They are firing on all cylinders and I'm still not sure how good NewCath really is.

This game will definitely tell us something about the Breds, and their chances of a return trip to Bowling Green.

If NewCath wins or keeps it as a 10 pt game they will be ok

Fun game to watch and have been to many of them. As of now I think Beechwood is the better team ; still pulling for the Breds though. I believe that New Cath is good, not sure how good compared to the past few seasons. Either way, I believe this game tells more of what to expect in the playoffs for both teams.

Shame on you, you NewCath traitor.

Ha im just being a honest fan

I think Beechwood wins this one rather easily.

I know, just like giving you a hard time. :thumb:

I think this game will be closer than some of you are predicting! NCC held Dixie to a low score so I'm assuming they have a decent defense. The Holy Cross scores look similar. NCC emptied their bench earlier vs Holy Cross.

Wow. 11-1 thus far in the poll. I think this game's really going to open some eyes.
