Who creates jobs? The invisible hand.

 

Innovation in the private sector is the main thing that creates jobs. When that innovation happens it's the job of the government not to get in the way.

Isn't that all of our fault? I mean, do you look for the cheapest price for things you buy?

 

Speaking just for myself, I look for the best price.

 

Best often does not equal cheapest.

I look for quality first and buy the best quality products that I can reasonably afford. I have not stepped foot into a Wal-Mart in months because of the cheap Chinese junk that they peddle. It is very hard to find decent quality products without ordering them online.

 

I have no objection to buying foreign made goods if the quality is great. I drive an old Japanese car, love my Japanese fuzzy-logic rice cooker, and my comb was made by a British company that has been in business since 1777. However, I prefer buying American made goods when the quality is on par with or superior to products made in other countries.

 

Unfortunately, it has become impossible to find American made versions of many items. I place most of the blame for that on our own government. Washington is strangling our economy and it has been doing so since George H. W. Bush took office.

Sad state of affairs that a statement like that will be tolerated , even encouraged in America . By anyone of any party .

Price is always a factor, of course. Still, I try to buy American and support local small businesses. I'm sure you do the same.

 

I don't care where it's made, as long as the price is right for me.

At least bills will be voted on in the Senate. Then Obama will either have to sign or veto. He will finally have to do that part of his job.

When Obama starts using that pen of his to veto a long string of popular bills, it will make a great campaign issue for the 2016 election.

How long did the Great Depression last? Did it not take a World War to end it? FDR deserves credit as a great wartime president. He gets too much credit for his performance during the Great Depression. At least he made most people work for their government checks.
