October 26, 201411 yr I don't care where it's made, as long as the price is right for me. Often times local small businesses can't compete with the "big dogs". Often times they can and do. No need to head out to Florence in many cases when you've got numerous small businesses on Monmouth Street in Newport and in Bellevue. Make it a point to do business with them.
October 26, 201411 yr When Obama starts using that pen of his to veto a long string of popular bills, it will make a great campaign issue for the 2016 election. No it won't. He ain't runnin' for re-election.
October 26, 201411 yr No it won't. He ain't runnin' for re-election.As Obama says about the 2014 Senate campaigns, he will not be on the ballot but his policies will. Everybody who has supported Obama's failed policies will be called to account, including his former incompetent Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. It is going to be fun watching liberals squirm to explain Obama's vetoes if the GOP claims the Senate. Not only that, there will be tremendous pressure on Senate Democrats to support a few Republican bills just to be able to defend themselves against charges of partisan obstructionism. That will result in Obama facing the prospect of vetoing bipartisan bills that reach his desk. Obama has sown the seeds of the destruction of the far left wing of the Democratic Party. I am looking forward to the sprouting of those seeds.

The main problem for Republicans remains demographics, with lack of attractive national candidates second. What happens or doesn't happen in a Republican Senate will have little bearing on the '16 presidential election. It's all about the Democrats getting their people out to vote.

What happens or doesn't happen in a Republican Senate will have little bearing on the '16 presidential election. It's all about the Democrats getting their people out to vote. The main problem for Republicans is weak, ineffective leadership. In case you have failed to notice, Obama's popularity is in free fall. It is tough to inspire voters to turn out to vote when they are demoralized. Obama's presidency has discredited socialism, as if it needed any further discrediting. To believe that Obama's failed presidency and the unpopularity of Obamacare will have no impact on the 2016 campaign is ostrichesque. (Black and Hispanic Americans, as well as young voters have suffered disproportionately in Obama's America. To expect them to continue to enthusiastically support the far left wing candidates that Democrats are putting forth is naive.)
October 26, 201411 yr FDR did pretty well. A lot of the problems we have with government spending can be traced back to FDR. FDR was a terrible president when it came to the economy.
October 26, 201411 yr The funniest part about Hillary's statements is that you don't have to believe in trickle down economics to understand that businesses create jobs. Someone who is so unintelligent that they make this comment isnt qualified to be president. Also even if you believe raising the minimum wage doesn't kill jobs you also must understand there is no credible evidence it creates jobs. The more she talks the more I believe she won't be the Democrat nominee.
October 26, 201411 yr Often times they can and do. No need to head out to Florence in many cases when you've got numerous small businesses on Monmouth Street in Newport and in Bellevue. Make it a point to do business with them. We can finally agree on something. :thumb: I have patronized some of these business. The Brass Bull, The Brass "donkey", Centerfold Lounge.
October 26, 201411 yr In all seriousness, there are many great small business in Bellevue & Newport, and I've been a customer of many at one time or another.
October 27, 201411 yr Labor cost is a major element to most goods and services. Companies look at the total cost of an employee. That includes government mandated costs. That includes social security match, mandated health care, continuing education cost, unemployment insurance, etc. Government requirements can easily drive up the incurred cost of an employee well over 50% of the base salary. Overall cost of an overseas employee can be 1/3 that of an American counterpart - when ALL cost are considered. When the offshoring of white collar jobs started many companies tried to hold off. Many were burned in early attempts and gave up on the concept. But when the potential savings is 2/3s you can not ignore it. And once it stuck and worked for some companies the wave started. The global gap is closing. There is now some coming back. But as with many things it will never return to the pre-offshored days. But government mandates have helped drive this trend. How much is uncertain. But fewer jobs would off-shore if the government overhead was so high for workers.
October 27, 201411 yr Think how strong an indication this is showing how liberal today's democrat party has become . Business's and Corporations don't creat Jobs ? Funny . I've hires several people In my years of business ownership . Should disqualify her from receiving the nomination but the party is controlled by leftist whackos .
October 27, 201411 yr How long did the Great Depression last? Did it not take a World War to end it? FDR deserves credit as a great wartime president. He gets too much credit for his performance during the Great Depression. At least he made most people work for their government checks. In this regard, you and I see eye-to-eye, which is kind of a watershed moment. I would be all for transitioning welfare recipients into construction jobs to shore up our shoddy infrastructure in this country. It would be a massive bump in our economy as long as we could keep the corruption out of it — I'm talking about you, Kentucky, in particular and many other states have similarly incestuous politician-road lobby issues, I'm sure. Fixing dangerous and outdated high-volume bridges are my issue No. 1 toward helping secure and rebuild the economy, and infrastructure in general is No. 2. I would also encourage the coal industry to merge with the railroad industry and make coal-powered rail the preferred long-distance shipping method to preserve gasoline stores.

I've hires several people In my years of business ownership . Should disqualify her from receiving the nomination but the party is controlled by leftist whackos .Hillary's comments just illustrate how badly she wants the power of the presidency. She wants the job in the worst possible way - meaning that she will say and do anything to get it. I don't believe that she believed what she said. As you pointed out, the left wing wackos control the party and, amazingly many of them think that Hillary is not liberal enough for the job. Hillary will run to the far left to get the nomination and then she will run to the middle in the general election. The media will play along with the gag so that Hillary can spend her campaign cash on the character assassination of whoever gets in her way. It is the Clinton way. People who want power as much as Hillary does should be disqualified on that basis alone. She is one scary, despicable politician.

It costs the owner around 17.00 per hour for that employee because of government overhead..
