October 25, 201411 yr Hillary Clinton, speaking at an event in Massachusetts yesterday said this: Don't let anybody tell you that its corporations and businesses that create jobs. You know that old theory, trickle-down economics. That has been tried, that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly. One of the things my husband says when people ask him what he brought to Washington, he says I brought arithmetic. Is she right? Is she saying government does? If not the government or corporations and businesses, then who? I can't seem to find anymore on this, so if anyone else can please feel free to post it.
October 25, 201411 yr Author Need some more context.I'm trying to find more, but so far this is as much as I've been able to find: [video=youtube_share;r12OhGGhOSU]http://youtu.be/r12OhGGhOSU If anyone can find more, please post it.
October 25, 201411 yr Author I do know the comments were made at a fundraising event in Boston for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Martha Coakley. Still searching for more context.
October 25, 201411 yr Just more of the fool's gold of socialism now evasively labeled progressivism. Send them all to Cuba I say.
October 25, 201411 yr The free market creates jobs. Politicians kill jobs. The so-called free market has sent millions of U.S. jobs overseas in the last quarter century. The quest for cheaper or cheapest labor has always been the No. 1 driver of the U.S. economy, regardless of which political party occupies the White House.

To get cheaper good for the working middle class.......which the D's have all but destroyed.....
October 25, 201411 yr Ignorant statement by HRC but hey, she did remind them that BILL's her husband. That's pretty much going to be her platform.

I mean, do you look for the cheapest price for things you buy?

The quest for cheaper or cheapest labor has always been the No. 1 driver of the U.S. economy, regardless of which political party occupies the White House.High corporate and personal tax rates, organized labor, and crony capitalism, which liberals often confuse with the free market, have driven jobs overseas. Many states and the federal government have responded to the loss of jobs by raising taxes, passing more laws, and writing thousands of new regulations. Record numbers of people rely on food stamps and have left the labor market because of socialist programs - the free market has nothing to do with job losses. I thank you liberal Democrats and feckless GOP leadership for this mess.
October 25, 201411 yr Isn't that all of our fault? I mean, do you look for the cheapest price for things you buy? Price is always a factor, of course. Still, I try to buy American and support local small businesses. I'm sure you do the same.

October 25, 201411 yr The comment about Bill bringing Math is comical. It is impossible for the government to create one job without destroying another, unless it is through lifting restrictions. If you pass laws that favors one business or industry over another the government is picking winners and losers . If the government taxes money and redistributes the money to create jobs again it is picking winners and losers. Obviously some basic regulations may be needed on business but even needed regulations affects the amount of jobs offered. We as a society have to determine the ROI on these regulations and if the results are worth the cost. But anytime government tries to take a strong stance on economic growth and use a strong had to dictate who succeeds , it costs jobs in other areas. It is simple economics that most people are to bored to understand.
